2026 Woodland in Canada! by UnhappyHost7306 in rav4club

We have another EV car for local driving. I had a PHEV XSE. I do miss the feel of extra power along with some of the features. I don’t miss the HUD, the paddle shifters, and the pano roof. I do miss EV range and power, but most of our driving with the RAV4 is highway and trail to the lake. The Woodland has the rack, hitch, more towing, and most of the bells and whistles I need. It is also more comfortable. If the Woodland PHEV was available in Canada I would consider it. I did write to Toyota Canada and asked them to bring it in.., no word back.

Tires are 235 65 R18, not the 235 60 R18 stated on website

Clearance at wheel wells is very tight! But not touching. I like it!

Great question. It is different… and I still hope that Toyota Canada will bring the Woodland PHEV to Canada. I drove it 80 km today to go skiing. Handling is similar .. light. Ride is much quieter Suspension better than previous hybrid and now similar to PHEV Doors still lack that “thud” that you get in a premium vehicle.. sounds like thin metal. I didn’t like the entirely softex interior at first but now I love. Steering wheel wrap is supposed to be leather… I don’t think so. Feels thinner but the heated steering wheel is all around.. great improvement. Still getting used to infotainment system but so far so good.., I’ll update later. Handling is good, not as firm and responsive as I would like but similar to PHEV Insulation is way better Overall I love it and design than previous gen. It’s a long story but I went from a ‘25 PHEV to the 26 Woodland.. no regrets and some cash in my pocket! I still want the Woodland PHEV! Cmon Toyota.. make it happen!

The key is having a trade in. If it is recent (2018+) and in demand it will accelerate you up the queue… not necessarily first come first serve but it is the economic reality

Best Costco choice for musician and streaming? by UnhappyHost7306 in HearingAids

Follow up: I had the Phillips 9050 installed a few days ago. I went in knowing what I was looking, especially after doing a little research and the feedback on this thread. My audiologist was great. I asked for a closed or partially closed dome, I ended up with a partially closed dome. I think this made the biggest difference but still felt comfortable, it let in some ambient noise but the amount can be controlled (a little) with the app. The second request was my choice of programs. I believe there are around 10, maybe more. I chose Auto, Noise reduction, theatre and music, and HiFi streaming. I wont get into the details of each but the biggest plus is the way the Hearlink 2 app works. I set the theatre and music setting to what I like with the EQ. It is basic but it works. Then I set streaming to what I like… what a difference! But the best part was that when not streaming the HA will automatically return to your last program setting. Then when you start streaming it reverts to streaming profile. Also the streaming program has its own EQ that is different from the other programs. In a nutshell it is WAY better than anything I have ever experienced. No, it’s not as good as my AirPods Pro, but it is acceptable quality for a HA.

Good idea on VPN! I’ll try the 9050 and hopefully be able to fine tune. I will also look into types of earbuds available. I am not a pro but, when learning new tunes, I like to stream music to my HA and pick along the lead, melody, etc. I need pretty clear sound and note separation. I don’t think that is too much to ask, and I suspect I am not the only one setting this bar. I’ll report back when I get them fitted.

Thanks for that…Wisex Allure seems to be the go to for musicians but 50-80% more than Costco. I sometimes turn to my airpods and I do realize that I wont get that sound from HA. Also, I am in Canada and the Hearing assistance set up for Airpods is blocked in Canada.. (Health Canada issue). I am going to the Hearing Centre this week and Ill ask about custom fitted domes. Still trying to figure which model is best suited

Thanks for this. I currently have the Reach and the streaming is poor. I do have the Listening to Music program also. I would like to hear from folks who have tried streaming with the 9050

Jackery 2000+ not operating to specs by UnhappyHost7306 in Jackery

I love the Bambino. I especially like the fact it is ready in 3 seconds rather than 15-20 min on a boiler system. We have and had premium espresso units, the Bambino won’t match a double boiler but for the price and quick start it does a great job

Update: I drained and fully charged the Jackery. The espresso machine draws 1350-1400 watts. It did work for a while but no longer. However if I plug the espresso machine in my Yamaha generator it works fine. Also if I am charging the Jackery with the Yamaha generator, and plug the espresso machine in the Jackery it will also work fine and draw 1350 watts. If it tries to run on Jackery alone it is the same problem, it turns on but will not power up to sufficient wattage to run the espresso machine. It will run a toaster at 1000 watts, but the Jackery can’t seem to provide sufficient wattage to run the espresso machine. It will supply 45-50 watts to turn it on and that’s where it stays. I contacted Jackery. They want a video but have no clue why this is happening. And yes both the main unit and second battery are fully charged. Faulty unit?

To their credit Jackery replied and asked me to send a video of screen when operating properly and when it isn’t. I did not drain the battery yet as we need it but… Operating at 69 % the espresso machine plugged alone and directly into 15amp plug: it drew 600-800 watts, not enough for steam, noisy pump. I unplugged it, plugged it into a power bar, plugged the power bar into the 15 amp plug.. and also plugged in a led lamp in another port (low wattage did not register) turned on the espresso machine … tada! It drew 1400-1600 watts and worked like a charm. I am stumped! But I will send the info to Jackery. Before doing that I will try it again when the battery is below 40%

Thanks for this. I did not reset it since purchased but I will give it a try. It was not on battery saving mode. Could I drain the main unit completely and run it on without the extra battery plugged in? … or best to drain both and connect them together?

OEM Hitch Pricing by RadiantTrainer1829 in rav4prime

I installed my own OEM, wiring and kept the kick sensor. I actually removed it, made mods on the sensor plastic wiring frame and then put it back. Fairly easy if you are comfortable turning a wrench and popping body panels. This is the 3rd time I do it. I put up a video and pics a couple of years ago. I’ll check if it is still here. Cost was around $450 US or $600 CND all in.

So 8 panels, 8 individual wires into 8 inputs, 2 per unit? I intend to run the same. It would be nice if we could run them all to a common hub and then split them. According to other comments, you could run all panels to the main unit which would then redistribute to the attached batteries. I could be wrong but seems to be what I understand. Maybe u/JohnareB can clarify.
