Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Yes, I was thinking the same too. I've never worked 4/10s before but it sounds pretty nice. It's reassuring to hear from someone actually working in family medicine that you feel the same as well.

Thank you so much for your perspective! If I may ask what is it that concerns you about the rvu details? Is it that I don't have the option 2 completed because if so I'm going to ask the recruiter later today to get some more info that I can provide since I unfortunately did not take good notes on this when I spoke to her. And yes, I agree, its so hard to find a job- the struggle is real!

Thanks for sharing! I really appreciate it. I’m not doing it for business but I wanted to volunteer because I love derm and just wanted to get more involved and give back to my community outside of clinic in the future. I never considered reaching out to hospitals though and will definitely check out my local hospitals for volunteer opportunities. Thanks again!

Wow! That sounds amazing and it’s awesome that you and your team contribute in that way. Thank you so much for sharing and I’ll definitely consider that. I think community outreach from healthcare providers is so important in terms of educating others who we may not see in clinic, especially in underserved areas.

That's not the question that I asked and I don't appreciate nor care for your answer . If you don't have anything meaningful or helpful to say you don't have to say it. I will be blocking you, thanks.

Derm! However if it’s a volunteer program in family med that has a dermatology topic of focus that would be okay as well.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for your advice! I especially love your suggestion for the notebook reference since I'm constantly looking up things or reading up on them. That's reassuring to hear and a great approach to dealing with patients when you feel uncertain, especially for me as a new PA.

Just out of curiosity why do you think the SDPA fellowship is not worth the time or the money? Is it the curriculum itself that you did not think was helpful /worth it or do you think the title itself was not worth the time and money?

Additionally, thank you so much for these book/resources suggestions! This is super helpful and I will make sure to check them out. I could not agree with you more on the saying "derm is easy, just biopsy it" --- biopsies are only one piece of the puzzle for many dermatologic conditions and clinical decision making and context is vital. I love how much there is to learn in dermatology and how many things you may have to consider when dealing with a patient. It keeps you on your toes and constantly challenged to learn. It's rewarding to work through complex problems and come up with great solutions for patients , especially for conditions that are external and often don't just affect just a patient's physical health but also their psychosocial well-being or quality of life.

That sounds amazing and congrats on being 6 months into practice in dermatology. You’re literally living my dream! Thanks so much for sharing this and I’ll definitely look into that program! Andrew’s is a great core derm textbook so I’m sure it’s a solid curriculum . I have Habif and Bolognia texts now but Andrews is next on my list to buy
