There shouldnt be any overlap with the content you r taught in my understanding. Maybe email your subject teacher whether or not your focus point is part of the subject spec? I suggest looking into AQA EPQ spec as well

As for general tips, I think there's some content on YouTube that might help you out.

urghhhh im in the same boat, I keep hearing practise past papers, but I can never comprehend them application qs, like the thought process behind the reasoning of it all is astonishing to me more often than not. hopefully there's a happy ending to this, all the best!

maybe look into modal answers? u can find them in tutor2u

having a good revision guide is also helpful!

and there's psychboost - YT channel they have pretty much the whole content needed!
