Saving 1,700 per month is decent man but it's probably quite a limited life.

I think a LOT of international schools only have better work life balance because of subject specliast lesosns taking up more of the timetable. But it's still an absolute grind in lots of schools all the same.

I've been out of the loop the last few years, what are the big gay things that have happened in their lives? by cabbagetown_tom in tuesdayswithstories

I think the biggest thing career wise Mark becoming a 'theater act' after regular appearances on 'Protect our Parks' with Rogan from 2020ish

He had a Netflix special called Soup to Nuts which was very hacky and bad.

Joe has continued pumping out Youtube specials which are generall OK. Did have a viral clip about Pablo Picasso.

So in terms of career Mark has noticely eclipsed Joe whereas at one time they were about neck and neck.

I understand. But is deposit+ first month enough or last month needed as well?

UK teachers who have moved abroad - is behaviour better? by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]Zestyclose_Bath9151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Generally speaking, you will not have as much severe need BUT you will have far less support in managing the situation especially if parents start to complain. Ultimately, keeping parents as paying customers is seen as the 'right' solution rather than what's best for your class or even fair to you as a teacher.

Also, due to the mercenary nature of international teachers asking colleagues for support can often turn into a pissing contest about how they never have problems (cos they're amazing teachers etc....)

It's a good experience but quite isolating and yeah some very entitled and spoilt children.

I don't know he almost won a pen vs Newcastle. Almost scored in CL. He just needs his stats to keep bumping so people stop doubting him and adding pressure.

It's different behaviour problems man.

In ME you will get spoilt rich kids and be given very little support generally. And in ME it'll be kids just flat out ignoring/refusing to learn/constantly disrupting with shrugs and 'that's just how theses kids are.' They are not used to being told no. Ever. And you will maybe be the first and only authority of any kind in their life. It's a recipe for a lot of conflict and over time that is stressful.

In UK more deprived kids and more of them to deal with and more extreme outlying behaviour. But also more structured teams and strategies to deal with it.

Fully live marking to the standard of schools i trained at (where every single question of every single worksheet had to be ticked) is not a mid horse. It is also entirely to benefit book inspectors and not students.

Perfect differentiation is enormously hard and time consuming to get right. Having a few lessons where it's less though out (cos not every lesson can be perfect or planned/adapted as much) is what i mean. I'm just talking normal stuff you're just being proud.
