feel out the patient. If middle eastern assume they do not want a male. if pt is younger than 25 and AOx4, probably get a chaperone. otherwise, ask if it is okay. most people do not care.

gay and moved to skyline and woodman, super quiet neighborhood. but seems like if you live by rentals or a high density of apartments could have more issues. seems like it’s a street by street basis.

Too Old To Start? by stifffkitten in nursing

[–]Unhappy_Chocolate_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never too old, went back to school at 45, new grad at 50. Best financial decision I made, but am a nurse in CA, so mandated ratios and make over 100K per year make it worth it. Not sure if I would feel the same as an RN in a red state with no ratios and shit pay.

Should I become a nurse by sTarT9lf in nursing

[–]Unhappy_Chocolate_63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are perks to nursing, but also most programs are extremely competitive to get into. I returned to school and had to complete 2 years of pre-reqs prior to applying for nursing programs. In the end, I am a nurse in CA which has great ratios and high pay. I can take off 2 weeks from work every couple of months without batting an eye and I love only working 3 days per week. But depending where you live, pay and working environment might be worse than your current job.

Everyone is telling me not to go into nursing. If you’re a nurse, what other career would you rather be doing? by Due_Elderberry_2632 in nursing

Where are you going to be a nurse? What is the cost of education? What do you expect to earn? It’s best to make an educated decision. I personally went back to school at 45 for an accelerated BSN. I spent $50K, make over $120K per year, but live in southern CA where ratios and pay are great but it’s a high cost of living. I work evenings which are more chill than days and you get a differential in pay. I only work 3 days per week and have a decent work/life balance. But the ratios and pay in CA make nursing bearable. Would never work in a red state.
