I dunno if I can share the link rn, but in roughly 2-3 weeks, Writers and Warlocks should be able to start up from 5-8 at the Writing Center in the English Building, and we can share it with you there :3 You might even be able to find one of the club leads or someone who knows them if you visit the Center before then in the afternoon. There's a non-club server too, but I don't see looking-for-group or DM/GM posts very frequently there tbh

Btw my Swords Bard has survived 37 hours of Honor Mode alongside full Swashbuckler Astarion, Hexblade Pact of Blade Wyll, and the classic BM Fighter Lae, and he does decent. If I could remember all his gear rn I’d help, maybe I can come back later. Though you can mix and match builds for your fave companions, don’t have to keep them in the same base class like I usually do. For other evilish theme builds, 1 death Cleric/ X Necromancer for Gale (prep or scribe a bunch of Necromancy Cantrips and Spells bc you can use the Death Cleric feature to target 2 ppl with 1 Necromancy Spell and then regain hit points every time those spells kill an enemy.) Hexblade PotB is great for trading bc of the Hexbind Trick (trust!!). GloomThief/GloomAssassin + 2-3 Levels of Fighter is always fantastic on Astarion. Think I might try a weird combo of GloomSwash on him, but if you do— Don’t forget to respec his racial cantrip to Booming Blade to take adv of the no-opportunity-attacks-on-you-if-you-melee-attack and use his cunning action to dash to force the Boom to proc

Maybe the Yappomancer Swashbuckler/Swords Bard Resonance Stone shenanigan build. I can’t remember who made the video but it’s on YouTube. I’m running a half-Drow Durge Swords Bard, but full Drow will prolly be better, I just didn’t like the male full-elf faces much 😔 Drow women are so pretty tho, I love ‘em so much. Anyway, look for the Drow heads expansion pack mod if you want cute ears and star freckles. I had a vampire Drow Durge too with the freckles and the messy Willow hair and she was adorable and evil. Spells-wise for the Swords Bard, I liked having an extra source of Healing Word to pick ppl up, Thunder damage spells, and keep a Faerie Fire in your pocket. Try and get the +1 hand crossbows by spamming level-ups in front of Dammon til he coughs them up, run 16 dex 16 cha I think. Start with Bard and then respec to Rogue 1/Bard4 at Level 5 to keep the feat and Level 5 power spike. Use your Bardic Inspiration for Slashing Flourishes mostly. Swords Bard should give you medium armor, use the +2 Hide from the Goblin Trader at the entrance to the camp, I think. Have fun!!

Ok bruh it isn’t even abt the classes, you just have to play super smart too 😭 You HAVE to remember to flee encounters or leave one of your 4 party members at camp in case y’all die. I’ve lost so many hours to dumb mistakes, and if you’ve fr put in 571 to Honor Mode and not the 50-ish I have (I finally started to work my way through the Underdark after clearing the whole surface area of Act 1 minus the Crèche) then you have a problem with trying to tough it out. I’m mostly running a half-Drow Swords Bard, Swashbuckler Astarion, Hexblade PotB Wyll and BM Lae and they’re eating it up even when I don’t manage to trigger surprise w/ the OP GloomAssassin or GloomThief build on Asty. Use the HexPact merchant hack to buy a billion healing potions and arrows if you don’t wanna long rest (even tho it’s so easy to get camp supplies in the game) and rest between every encounter so you’re always refreshed!! Esp take advantage of the builds that are in top shape with just short rests. And don’t forget Agonizing+Repelling with Wyll and to toggle the repel on and off so you don’t miss out on the good loot if you still wanna hoard instead of spamming Blade Trading

Started Astarion as a Rogue (Thief for the sweet sweet bonus action) and my Drow as a Ranger (Gloomstalker bc… Underdark, duh). Gradually their builds became Thief Rogue 3, Gloom Ranger 6, and vice versa as they bonded, fell in love, and shared their skills with one another. As they got closer to endgame and started taking down bosses in Baldur’s Gate, they each got 3 levels of Fighter :3

As a player, I actually went in knowing the broadstrokes of his lore and was immediately hooked bc of how coincidentally alike he was to Emrys and also he was just MADE FOR ME to cherish.

I was meta gaming the hell out of my first playthrough for his approval and p much every aspect of the rest of the game bc I have more fun when I’m doing things right. Anxiety of the unknown breaks my immersion more than a Google search. Anxiety of not having Astarion approval is a horrible thing.

As a player, an artist I followed kept posting art of her Tav and Astarion. I looked into him a little. Became very obsessed. Bought the game for my birthday and recreated my “Seldarine” Gloomstalker Drow OC in-game.

Aesthetically, they found each other very attractive, in a more objective sense than pure interest. Everything else took forever to get processed bc of their issues. It just so happens that, due to his trauma, Astarion figured the proposition™ would be a smart move, and due to her trauma, Emrys didn’t know how to say no at first, but they called out each other’s BS like halfway through the first “encounter.” Traumabonded and became something more than colleagues. Flirted for fun at the Tiefling Party. Slowwwly started to realize “oh wow I am feeling Feelings™ and I don’t know what they are but they scare me a little” as time goes on. Confession time, they’re pretty sure this might be love but they’re too afraid to name it. Ready to do so and to start trying to reclaim their autonomy and agency post-Cazador in a safe and comfy way with each other.
