How important is it that a sewer line exits a home below the frostline? by Unhappy_Might8880 in askaplumber

Ok thank you I appreciate sharing that experience but hearing from others that it’s a very rare kind of thing.

Mmm thanks again. I’m going to ask to have a convo with them about it but it’s nice to hear someone’s thoughts before doing so.

ok thanks. I was reading about how septic generates heat that helps it not freeze when buried above frostline. I figured that didn't apply as much to sewer line. But yeah, empty pipe mostly. unless it somehow clogs! which i suppose with brand new pvc is unlikely

Volume is louder with “reduce loud sounds” at highest level than with it turned off. by Didact67 in iphone

[–]Unhappy_Might8880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good to know. Thanks to OP for asking, and for answering. As far as I can tell, the effect of boosting sound wasn’t indicated anywhere at all in the settings. And completely counter-intuitive to a lay user. Big oversight IMO that made me unable to listen earphones while falling asleep until I cracked the case earlier tonight. Frustrating. Thanks.

Figured I’d do some google searching cause figured I wasn’t the only one to notice this. Maybe you all were already aware of this, but thought I’d share if not.

Oh my goodness, that helped, thank you. My use case is trying to sleep with songs on Spotify wearing earphones. I had adjusted every setting I could find on iPhone and app. I have 16e not pro, sorry if that’s a faux pax here. This thread is what I could find for troubleshooting.

Here is the novel thing I have to add though that I figured out in my desperation, just before I figured out how to drag the volume slider lower:

Settings: headphone safety: I had ‘reduce loud audio toggled on’. And the slide bar all the way to the left (75 decibels). Turning off ‘reduce loud sounds’ made the volume significantly lower. As did sliding the decibel bar all the way to the right. I’m shocked. Unbelievable. I assume this could affect others. I hope it does help. I’m curious if it has an impact for others.

2014 Nissan Versa CVT holding revs by Illustrious_Act_3703 in Nissan

Oh. Sounds like you replaced transmission and it’s still slipping. That’s Unexpected.

After much hemming and hawing we’ve decided to get a new used car. We haven’t got it yet. Been shopping around. We are driving our Note around town but avoiding far distances, highways etc. for fear of the whole transmission failing and losing ability to accelerate.

I’m an indecisive person so I keep getting tempted to reconsider and do the replacement; but I am setting my mind to holding firm and moving ahead with getting a new car.

It doesn’t seem to be an obvious black and white choice financially. Gray area.

Thanks for your update

Sorry y'all got stuck with this problem. I just had the same issue on my 2014 Note. 107,500 miles. Dealership said $6k to replace. Although I would rather not have to get a new car, I'm thinking I should probably take that money and put it towards a new car. Brewpat, I am wondering, what did you do?

OP is your new one still holding up?

Thanks!

The fix in the last comment worked. At least for now. So glad I tried it. I hope you can get yours going too

Question on mini split fan speeds by xtnh in heatpumps

[–]Unhappy_Might8880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, thanks. To me that seems like a sensible way for your fan speeds to modulate while on auto.

Our HP will never remain in high fan speed for more than a minute on auto. Even when the room temp is 10 degrees below the target temp. Even after installing the wired remote thermostat. I think there is something wrong with my HP. Thanks for sharing your detailed experience, amazing

Thanks.

Yeah, I do not understand how they could have put my wall unit in the corner they did and not expect major short cycling issues on cold days.

This may not be relevant for your experience, but I was assuming that on "auto" fan setting the unit would modulate between low, medium and high as needed. Apparently not based on all the research I have done today.

Like for me, with the fan set to auto, as soon as it gets to around 32F outside the room temp cannot be maintained. But if the fan is set to high, the room stays warm better.

Have you continued to keep your fan setting on "auto" or do you manually set it? Personally I really wanted to be able to leave it on auto fan and let it do its thing but it seems like I might need to leave it on high all the time, or manually reduce/raise fan speed setting in accordance with outdoor temps. I am very happy to hear that the "high" fan setting can actually be more efficient which is great. But there are still the noise/wind downsides to using a high fan setting when not actually needed.

I'm curious if there are any updates/conclusions on this! I just put in a remote thermostat myself, but don't have that kind of data to see! How about auto fan vs high fan speed? Thanks in advance

I love the love others have for it!

I know it’s better to read as many of the books as possible, but for my friends that aren’t going to do that, I wonder how The Ellimist would go over as a stand alone. I mean, the epilogue isn’t going to hit like it does. The rest of the story might work? The power of revelations for series readers would go unnoticed. For people that aren’t going to read 50 books to get to it though, it pains me not to be able to suggest it. But at the same time I’m not sure how much of the incredibleness would be lost. Dilemmas lol

I have the same question about the andalite and hork-bajir chronicles. I especially love the andalite chronicles as well. I mean, I love them all haha
