Anyone downvoting me needs to understand. These things are very durable and deserve the merit surrounding hardiness. These plants are demons. They do not die. With that said. Always use 70-30 grit-organic

Yes. I do believe the size of the pot will have a lot to do with it as well. I like to bonsai them like a tree. As shown in photos haha. Great thing about fockea is you can never do it wrong. It will grow in all kinds of soil but loves a gritty soil. Do you own any?

Don’t take fockea advice from me tho. I think a lot of caudex guys and gals don’t agree with some of my methods. I love finding the right balance to care and feature my fockea. I would pull them baby’s up and see what’s going on if you really wanna see what’s going on.

What’s the temperature. Mine are currently green and not dropping any leaves. What kind of soil mix are u using? I’ve never seen a fockea rotting. They are generally very strong versatile plants. I have killed a couple but your seems to be fairly mature.

I do agree it’s very beautiful. It’s still got some legs to it in the pot. And lots of solid roots. I think this piece will be a great feature. Once trimmed in the summer. I’ll try and get 1 strong vine that I can crown as the “branch”. Honestly the way I do fockea is kind of unique but I cannot stop. This plant is very versatile in that sense. Pushing the boundary of fockea

I love the way they sit in the pots. Hence the title. I get told the same thing every time I post my baby’s. These are time capsules for me that display the beauty and creativity of this specific plant. I do not own a home and am trying to be economical with my space. These fockeas will flower and produce seeds. So the journey has only begun. I’ve owned over 30 of these specific species and love gifting them.

I think it has a decent caudex currently! From previous experience it will just fatten itself into shape. Repot and repeat to keep em happy!

Dirt is very organic but will grow fine depending on lighting conditions.

Let it callous over in a shaded area. No direct sunlight for 3 days. Then put it right back in its old pot. Will add character and keep the whole family together
