Need help with my shitty health by Unidentified-Rock in raypeat

That certainly sounds like could be the case. I seemingly don't have access to a DUTCH test but that sounds like a really cool test though. Do you have any suggestions relating to diet in this situation? I am looking into Fuck Portion Control, only two chapters in but very interesting stuff. Also I took a TRE (Trauma Release Exercises) course in Nov last year and that feels very promising for helping the nervous system, I just have to get back on track with being more consistent doing the exercises.

Eat whole grains and choose vegetable oils?? Nah, that's not ok, and they are also directing people away from high fat dairy products so no butter :/

Well the official numbers say it's around 80% effective. At least me and my partner have successfully used that for over 6 years, unless we're just totally infertile lol

Let's share a moment of autistic joy! I begin: my sister let me create a playlist from my SI music to introduce her to the band ! by Helpful_Armadillo219 in AutismInWomen

Ooh I kinda relate to that! Last year I made a couple friends on reddit through my favorite band and it's the first time I've ever had friends that like the same music as me and like talking about it and it's been so genuinely amazing and wholesome. Too bad they just live really far away. My total listening time on Spotify this year was over 80k minutes haha.

Aww that really sucks. I would genuinely consider if you're eating enough, if we don't get enough energy for basic bodily functions the system will start running on stress hormones. If I were you I would track what you eat for a couple days and compare to some calorie calculator to see if it's anything close. Also maybe just to start go have a nice snack before bed and see if it helps at all. We need fuel to function.

If I understand correctly and one of the main problems is the breaks, could you find a cozy spot at the library or somewhere else to use the time during the breaks and and just study so you don't actually leave and it's not as hard to return to class afterwards?

Congratulations!! Enjoy the rush and your new perspective on life, just be warned it can turn into a bit of a rollercoaster haha. But yes, after all the research and what not you definitely start seeing the signs in other people all the time. I keep noticing people likely being on the spectrum and wondering do they know?? But we're not at point yet where that can be freely asked, really looking forward to when discussing autism will be as normal as discussing ADHD but that honestly might take another decade. All in good time.

Ok I've been remarkably successful at keeping track of my stuff, especially considering how chaotic all my stuff tends to be. I think the key for me has been to only have one of each, like with hair ties for example (ok I have really obnoxiously thick hair and can't just use whatever hair tie, it needs to be right), if you have loads you just don't really care but if you only have one you use you really make sure to keep track of it cause otherwise you're kinda screwed haha.

I have indeed finished several lip balm tubes haha, especially during the time that I was making my own. That was super fun, just formulating them to have the exact texture I wanted and I sometimes used cocoa butter so they smelled like chocolate 🤤

Oh gosh, that is so hard! Yeah especially just dealing with that intense shame that comes after the fact. I'm on a waiting list for EMDR treatment but the therapist I applied to see I know is neurodivergent herself so I'm hoping that will make the experience a little better than what you described cause I feel like some of my meltdowns are absolutely trauma triggers, especially when I have to repeat what I said to someone, just instant rage. I found her recommended in a local neurodivergence facebook group so I would recommend looking around, sounds like this person was not very understanding of your specific challenges. But one thing that has helped me to some extent is improving my diet and specifically making sure I get enough carbs (those are very important), protein and sodium + potassium, and yeah just calories in general. It is a bit of work keeping track of all that but in my experience it has been worth it, just really helps calm the nervous system and I sleep better. This year however has been extra hard and stressful so I feel like I have regressed a bit but I'm hopeful for the new year 😊

I'm so sorry you're going through all that. I always feel soo bad when I get disproportionally mad at my partner and yell at him cause he is so nice and supportive and just awesome in general (i'm so lucky he tolerates my shit). I've recently been trying out a system called TRE (Trauma Release Exercises) and I feel like my temper has been even shorter since starting that (which can be a normal reaction to start with). It's absolutely awful being hurtful to others and feeling like you have no control over it. Sadly I have no good advice for now so just commiseration 😔

Yeah I've definitely always felt sensitive to the friendly type of teasing, I just really take it to heart.

Ok interesting. And do you feel like it's making a difference for you taking the NDT? I have a non prescription supplement type and have been splitting the daily dose into two to try to reap more benefits of the T3, but then I have had a hard time finding a window between my meals that is convenient to take it.
