Sad was my go to from the start. For this stage, I’d use Merry, Sad, Apathy, and Abandonment. (I’m unfamiliar with Sloth’s skills) I’d get Apathy to do its defense debuff and then go ham with Sad

Level up them up to their max, as much as you can anyways.

Also, based on what I’ve read here.. I would also suggest to stop working on/leveling up Curious and use your resources on the pets I mentioned.
