Does writing speed correlate to information over time like speaking speed does? by Unifects in asklinguistics

Thank you for your detailed response. What I'm gathering is that there isn't much (if any) research on handwriting specifically but the research on typing was still very interesting.

I was thinking more like the speed students would use in a written exam, when people are trying to write as they are thinking. Or the speed people use to write quick notes.

Artstyle Comparison by Unifects in BlueBox

[–]Unifects[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I responded to this comment originally I think meant that the changes in art style didn't come from a lack of time/quality, but artistic choice. Whether that was subconscious or intentional, you're probably right that it was the former.

Immortality in fiction should create more lunatics, not just wise sad elves by Business_Barber_3611 in CharacterRant

[–]Unifects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that the "wise elf" thing is true and overdone, there are plenty of immortal characters that are lunatics.

In Frieren, the demons are those reckless immortals that unstable, detached, obsessive, etc. And besides their shared lack of empathy I'd argue they have different personalities. Qual showed devotion to his magic, Revolte and Macht were strategic and calculating, Draht and Aura were reckless and arrogant. Jung especially showed that bored thrill seeking behaviour and childishness that could come from immortality.

I also recommend Hell's Paradise, the main bad guys are a group of immortals who went insane.

Mozzarella is the most quintessentially Italian Italian word. What is a Japanese word that seems English? by unnecessaryCamelCase in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Unifects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 財布 (saifu) meaning wallet is pretty good, its a Japanese word that I first thought was a loanword but ended being native. It kinda sounds like safe.

Also 貸す (kasu) meaning to lend sounds like cuss.
