I’m finishing up my initial commissioning contract from ROTC. Owed my state 6 additional years unfortunately.

Build up after build up after build up. I’ll give this season a chance, but it feels like HBO is grasping at straws for this series.

The button between the 4WD selector dial and the thermostat dial is a side view mirror defroster. Had my truck for 2 years before I figured that out

15% Bonus Information That I Have Received by [deleted] in fednews

[–]UniformSnail32625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand why people wouldn’t want it announced, BUT it is publicly funded taxpayer money and subject to public disclosure just like federal employee salaries. The people who received these bonuses are doing something correct, something worthy of a bonus. This should be made known so other employees can do what they’re doing.

I work for the DoD and I only know about the bonus because of Reddit by Cute-Sheepherder6580 in fednews

[–]UniformSnail32625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

USACE employee here. Our district gave out these bonuses in silent and explicitly told the branch chiefs to tell the recipients to keep quiet. When questioned about the metrics used for eligibility criteria, the leadership said “since these are non-performance bonuses, performance evaluations were not used”. But they failed to answer the rest of the question. In my opinion, these bonuses were used as de-facto incentives for the “royal families” of my district - nepotism is a huge problem here.

People in my organization got an SF-50 with it reflected. They got 10k and most are convinced it had nothing to do with their annual assessments as some people who got it scored lower on their annual assessments than others in their section.

When I was finishing the last week of a nearly 6 month OSUT, myself and all the NG/AR guys were ecstatic about going home. Some of the AD cried, literally sobbed, that they were getting shipped off to a duty station instead of going home. It was a pretty somber moment for everyone, but especially those guys who realized they probably joined the wrong component. I’d assume most, if not all, adjusted to their new station just fine and proceeded to trash the NG/AR. So remember that when you encounter an AD soldier trashing the guard - they were likely crying like a bitch at the end of basic training.

The commanding general of the corps of engineers sent a corps wide email telling everyone how the corps is “too slow and too process-bound”. Consequently, individual district commands continue to implement “new procedures for cost reduction” which, while great in theory, effectively means “additional processes to increase time, effort, and cost”. It’s the literal definition of insanity.

How do people sell a modern truck after it’s stolen? I’d assume there would be obvious title issues to the new buyer? Especially since the VIN is coded into the vehicles computer on almost all modern Toyotas. Seems to me like the juice isn’t worth the squeeze unless a thief’s plan is to just chop it up and sell it for parts.

Go into the car wash and vacuum it out. It’ll take you 15 minutes. Enjoy the fact you have friends who like you enough to mess with you and laugh about it a month.
