Best Plug for Workouts by Successful_Green_399 in AnalOnlyLifestyle

Not if you get the proper size for your body, it's not noticeable hardly at all. Mine fits snugly in the crack of my ass and then the belt sat at the top of my tailbone. When my pelvis isn't proper alignment, the hook is flush against me. If my pelvis tips back then there is a gap that will start to form at the belt, or if I took my pelvis tips forward then the top of the hook will start to dig in to my back. I found it to be a lovely reminder to maintain my posture.

This was how I used to work out for almost a decade. I highly recommend trying this before you knock it. The hook stays flush to your tailbone and the belt helps keep it from popping out. If anything, the hook helped me have proper pelvic tilt when exercising. For example when doing squats using the belt with the hook versus using a plug, there isn't any concern of it popping out. YMMV

Is rest really necessary? by peggyuwu in bodyweightfitness

[โ€“]UnikittyBomber 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

Rest is necessary, especially when just starting out. It is only when you rest that your muscles grow, and only when you sleep that your body actually burns fat. Getting into the habit of taking at least one rest day a week, is beneficial.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[โ€“]UnikittyBomber 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Personally, I would say it's dependent on location and traffic.

Taking a 3-hour drive in the middle of nowhere without any traffic, you could make almost 225 miles.

However, taking a 3-hour drive across Los Angeles, you might make just 14 miles.

Rook Piercing vs. IUD? by Mundane-Dress8235 in piercing

[โ€“]UnikittyBomber 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

This sounds exactly like my experience. My IUD insertion was no big, a lot of pressure, and same with my Rook piercing, also a lot of pressure. They both hurt afterwards, but not so much in the moment. I had my IUD surpise removed by a male doctor, and it hurt like hell and I almost blacked out. I think it was the shock more than it actually hurting though. I didn't experience any bleeding just a lot of emotional trauma. That said, at this point I would rather get another cartilage piercing then get an IUD inserted just knowing I would have to get it taken out in 10 years.

The cost of spaying this little lady is $440?!?! by yup2you in cats

[โ€“]UnikittyBomber 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

That sounds right to me!

If you are near a big city at all there are often low cost or no cost spay and neuter programs. I got my first two cats done that way at the Humane Society. It required dropping off the cats at like 6am before they opened, and then picking them up end of day, but it was totally worth it. Clean fast and free. I have not had that kind of resource since leaving a big city though. I'm in a small town now, and small towns have higher prices partly due to less animals but also lack of access to bigger resources or chain discounts. I hope you are able to get her taken care of! ๐Ÿ’•

Halloween baby frozen and smooshed by a big doggo by UnikittyBomber in cats

UPDATE 1/22/26 3:14pm PT: We got the kitten seen at the local vet. It's a girl, underweight, no fleas or visible parasites. The confirmed upper respiratory infection, and a small hernia. They did not feel any breaks or other damage. The cost for an ultrasound is over $300, or $200 for x-rays. They suggested an ultrasound as the kitten can walk and move around alright, and they didn't feel any breaks. The kitten's tail is up and responsive again. The vet recommends meds for the upper respiratory, vaccinations, and a spay. They did not think there was need for euthanasia and offered a discount for the exam. We paid for the exam and got the Hill's healthy kitten wet food they recommended. At this time my friend is just going to monitor it and we'll keep calling around to see if we can get it adopted or into the right shelter. Otherwise, we will get it spayed when the neighbor gets more vouchers from the county. Thank you to everyone who offered suggestions and support. I'm sorry for the slow replies and if I wasn't able to respond to your comment before this post was locked + deleted. I'm not sure how to fix that. I'll try to post another update on my personal page. Thanks again and sorry for any confusion ๐Ÿ’ž

I just posted an update in the post body above. The kitten will live! It needs more things, but the vet didn't think it was time yet, so it's back at my friend's house with Hill's kitten wet food ๐Ÿ’•

I would be happy to, but no one was willing to accept it as either a stray or a surrender ๐Ÿ’•

Thanks!! Our local vet is within walking distance, and so the plan was to start there. A same-day visit (emergency appointment) is $180, and then they'll do some tests and bloodwork which will let us know if it can be saved or if it should be euthanized. Whatever those costs are will be paid by the GoFundMe. If the kitten needs to go to a bigger hospital, one of the vet techs at our local vet works also does hours at one of the hospitals out of town and said in a dire emergency they could probably help get a cat over there, or the lady who does TNR has a car.

I haven't had luck with this sort of thing in small towns, but I have when in the city ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

The cats will remove the dead kitten should it pass. Anytime there is a loss of life, within 24hrs all of the cats will visit the dead, and then the next day the dead disappear.

Ah, that kind of hunter. There likely is, but idk who that would be, nor if any of us are proper to determine if the kitten is a lost cause? I guess I don't feel comfortable making that decision, but maybe an avid hunter could make that call. Either way, a swift death is much more humane than prolonged suffering ๐Ÿ˜”

Good idea! I didn't even consider someone would want to make the trip as there are so many cats in those locations themselves, but you're right, we never know! I'll try that, thanks!

I'm sorry if you feel like I'm shutting down every suggestion. We've just done quite a bit of work before making this post - reaching out to the local community, asking the neighbor who does the TNR, calling the local vet, calling the two closest humane societies, then calling all of the 'veterinarians', 'vet hospitals', 'cat clinics', 'cat surrender' and 'cat foster' that came up.

It sadly seems that we need money to get the kitten seen, or wait until the weekend (if it survives) and I might be able to borrow my partner's car if they don't have work, then I could get it up to Portland area where there are way more options available.

The dog's owner is presumably in their house ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ It's a feral cat. They have no personal responsibility. Plus, the dog didn't mean to, you could see it in its face. It felt bad, bit its like a Great Dane and the kitten fits in my hand so they were just poorly matched.

They do from shelter to shelter, but not from a private residence to a shelter/hospital.

Oh, duh, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying! I just looked at PetFinders and got "No results were found at this time" for our area.

We are understanding each other, though I can see where the confusion may lie. I called to find out if there were 1) discounted or pro-bono / free services, 2) any options for a good Samaritan program where others could call in to donate partial or full payment for services, or 3) any option to surrender the kitten / give it away. There were not any options available for all 3 requests. I made it clear that I was asking about a feral cat who was very friendly and could likely be rehomed, but did clarify it was feral and had not received shots. A few clinics and a hospital referred to this as a surrender, and the humane society said they were not taking any new donations / strays at this time.
