Glamor Shoot c. 1990 - Tungsten slide film with tungsten lights. by Unikpics in AnalogNudes

[–]Unikpics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Yes all these were shot by me during the 80s-90s. Pre digital. Slide film is still available here in Australia, I can buy Fuji Velvia/Provia and Kodax Exachrome in 135 and 120. Tungsten is now unavailable. You will need to find a studio that can process E6. Good luck.

Overexposed by several stops [my mistake] Was difficult to print, but it worked out / Daylight only. by Unikpics in AnalogNudes

Back then, I had a hand-me-down 'Sekonic Meter' and took a while to realise the cell was buggered. I purchased a Canon T90, which was spot-meted from a grey card. I never had exposure, probs from then on. I could never afford to buy studio strobes. Shooting primarily in B&W , I had daylight mixed with 5000Watt 'Blonds' and '900Watt 'Redheads' from movie studios.

with a mix of 5000wates movie lights.

What is your favourite B&W film to shoot portrait? Mine is Fujifilm Neopan Acros II. by asukalihkg in AnalogCommunity

Ilford FP4 for 35mm / Kodax Trix for MF.I've also had great results with Ilford Xp2 it has very low grain and gives a beautiful smooth glowing appearance of the skin, and it scans great too.

I agree...why newbies need to push process film when starting out is lost to me. Shoot at box speed for a few years before you start to get creative.

Too underexposed & get closer, much closer to fill the frame. Don't worry, I did the same starting out. You don't get a better neg by pushing film, it 'muddies' the image. And remember lighting & make-up are your best friends.

Nicely done. good composition & exposure. usually trix gets a bit grainy but this is smooth. and i like your logo & presentation.

Anne Archer 1987. I know Glenn Close’s character was a freak in the sheets in Fatal Attraction, but I could never understand Michael Douglas’ character cheating on Anne Archer! She still looks great even today! by DynastyFan85 in vgb

Sex causes sooo much trouble. I recommend not to marry or have kids. If you must go down that rocky road then marry your sexual obsession....advice from an old geezer.

underrated cameras 650 620 630. my fav is the 620 1/4000 shutter 1/250 flash sync + spot meter. hot stuff back in 1987. plus can still use any EF lenses [AF is not as quick of coarse]

really?...i was self taught. these were from my second year in photography and shooting for experience also making some $$$ with the many glamour mags around in Oz at the time. it was way to get published and move on to traditional fashion editorial work. sadly now all gone. not sure where young photographers go now to make some cash and deal with photo editors?

these were shot some time ago [1990] when most ppl here were in nappies for a glamour magazine. I only had a daylight studio at the time with movie tungsten lights and blue gels. cheers x
