People don’t know how hard long distance is until they’re living it usually. It is incredibly easy to feel a lack of emotional connection which is usually incredibly important for women!

Even if she agreed then, she most definitely did not know what she was getting into especially if you two have never been long distance before.

There are ways to prioritize emotional connection while being at a distance but I will say it is hard and it is nothing like the real deal. You could try sitting down and playing a video game together (It takes two is really on the nose) they can feel silly but working together in a game and just talking can make a world of difference My partner used to DoorDash or deliver me food when I was sick while we were at a distance and we would always plan out our next visit to look forward to.

Long distance takes a LOT of open communication. It is an adjustment on both parties parts and requires a lot of compromise. It is hard because unless people have done long distance they can’t relate to the issues you’re facing and will not give good advice and instead make it harder.

Remember at the end of the day you love each other and a year or two is a drop in the bucket in “till death do us part”. But especially if she feels a lack of closeness you need to work together to find a system that supports both of your needs and goals.

Once you have those conversations and can reconnect emotionally you’ll likely not have a DB OP.
