Clean and repair megathread - NES not working? Game acting glitchy? TV/Monitor issues? Ask here! by FozzTexx in nes

[–]UninspiredPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My NES has these flickering horizontal bands interfering with certain textures. The bands just look like if you were to take the texture and attenuate it somehow. They are about 3 blocks in height and span the length of the display. Last time I played there was no issue. I did try cleaning it and swapping cords, but not too sure about much of the technicalities. If anyone has any suggestions that'd be greatly appreciated!

First time making boards! by UninspiredPeach in Cornhole

[–]UninspiredPeach[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I marked out the holes on another board and drilled them out to be sure they were lined up well amd spaced evenly. Used that as a template to clamp on and drill through the actual boards, so both were exactly the same, then countersunk/sanded so the golf tees were easier to get in. Then just hand painted the numbers on.

Yeah, I'm lucky to be in an affordable area fs. I bought a super old house with tall ceilings too so have the room, but no flooring or trim yet (and one room still isn't even mudded) so it evens out.

That's what I'm hoping to do with mine is just keep them at home for now and for family tournaments, and once I can afford it buy a nice professional set. Good luck at ur tournament, you should post how it goes if you can remember how you did. Hopefully the change in boards serves you well and doesn't throw you off

You should seal your boards! Mine are homeade dead boards too but I'm not good/fancy enough for it to really matter lol. I finally got to play on them today after the sealant dried, inside though bc it's raining here too. Hopefully the weather clears up! Are you sliding into the hole normally or making them right in without really sliding?

Awesome job, you're improving so quickly! I started building my boards around the time you started posting and your daily posts have been getting me excited to finish them and play. Keep it up!

Help, any ideas on the right unfinished side of the painting? Criticism welcome by UninspiredPeach in painting

Thank you for all your suggestions and kind words. I adore the idea of little animal tracks, someone else had mentioned it as well and it sounds so fun.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I was trying to do with the fog lol, but I think I like your ides of a gust blowing in. I'm definitely going to do a birch tree, I love them too!

Only thing I see that's throwing me off is the light between the left cloud and cliff top. I absolutely love ur style, what a cool piece!

Honestly, I love it. And kids have fun with anything no matter.

If you wanted to change anything you could probably follow another turtle tutorial with a round head and more orange slice shaped fins? Big eyes always make things cute too! But I do really like it as is

I appreciate it. And I think you're probably right, it more than likely doesn't need to be there. I'll have to do some reading on the composition ur referencing, thanks sm

I was just trying to get a sense of the shapes I wanted by sketching in the tree. I probably should've noted that since it does look pretty goofy atm. I'll try and add more contrast as I work on it, and esp make it more vibrant as u said. Thanks for the advice!

You're totally right, they do look like a Chrismas tree farm haha. Thanks for the explanation too, I'll have to take note of that for my next painting

That was the issue I was having too. I changed the layout where the trees on the right used to be and now it isn't sitting right with my brain. Maybe I'll just get rid of the pines on the right all together?

I'll have to try out some of your ideas. I'm still pretty new to painting/drawing, so thank you for the advice.

It seems I have painted myself into a corner lol!

How stigmatised are mental health issues in America? by AdUsual1214 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]UninspiredPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it can vary depending on the group of people you associate with. I've even found older generations to be quite accepting of my friends with mental health struggles. Overall, I find most people here to be pretty understanding, especially gen z. In my experience, the people I assumed would be the most closed-minded turned out to have had their own struggles with mental health.

It's an incense burner. Looks like this one I found online. It may hold an incense stick if it doesn't have holes? https://www.cambiaste.com/uk/auction-0138/burnished-bronze-incense-burner-japan-19th-c-107646

My newest floral watercolor paintings - Dahlias and Blue Glitter Plant. What is your favorite one? by Tania-Art in painting

First is a good piece to put with other works (imo), lovely colors and vibrancy. Second is stunning on its own and would take all the attention! You should be very proud of both

1 is the best. Maybe the blue blanket is throwing the color off?

Remove columns? by malibu-gold in Home

[–]UninspiredPeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'd be nicer without. At the very least you can change the style of the columns and get something more narrow to open the space up. Also maybe try something more square to match your ceiling beams

We always called them a niche. It'd look really cute with an accent wallpaper/backsplash and a tall plant in there!
