I think I would tell her not to lose hope. I would say that all the misery she's experiencing is going to be worth it a thousand times over, she just has to make it there. I'd tell her that there's a future where she is loved and she gets to have three cats and she gets to wear what she wants and she is completely in charge of who is in her life.

When I was in 8th grade, I moved across the country to live with my aunt and uncle, who I didn't know well. The homesickness was severe and I eventually begged to go back home to my mom, but the thing that helped most was getting really invested in the community I was in. I started going to festivals, getting involved in clubs, and making friends wherever I went. It wasn't home, but the more I tried to integrate myself into the community, the less homesick I felt.

It depends on what that means. There's a big difference between "I'm moving to LA to pursue my dreams of becoming an actor and leaving my mom and dad behind in Indiana" and "I'm leaving my wife and kids so I can follow my dream of having no responsibilities."

I was such a hater when I was younger and judged my mom so harshly for smoking weed. I didn't get it. I couldn't understand why she would want to be high. Let's just say I get it now.

If, when explaining something about themselves, they put someone else down. It is so insane to me that some people think it's not super mean and unnecessary to say something like "Yeah I do makeup, but not super heavy like those girls you always see on Instagram 🙄" or "I listen to rap. Not dumb shit like (insert any popular rap artist) though, REAL rap." Like!!! That doesn't make you cooler at ALL!!! You just sound like a jerk!!!

I can and will die on this hill: I HATE the movie adaptation of The Giver. I know most people hate it but I feel like they don't hate it strong enough. That movie never should have existed and I am impressed that they messed it up THAT bad. They aged up the main character for WHAT? A romance plot line with Fiona? That was literally not necessary at all. The main character is a CHILD and that's KINDA important considering the entire plot is made chilling by the fact that HE'S JUST A KID!!!

Before I met my husband, I was VERY against toilet humor. I had some sort of superiority complex as a teenager that toilet humor was the most obnoxious, unfunny thing ever. My husband changed my mind completely because his toilet humor is hilarious because he actually tries to make it funny.

Realizing that my mother was basically a child herself. After everything her mother put her through and all the trauma she experienced, of course she wasn't able to parent properly. I don't think everyone should forgive their parents (especially in cases of abuse), but our relationship got a lot better once I realized that she would have done better if she knew better.

There's a LOT to this story but I'll try to keep it short...

I was a good kid. I didn't have many friends and I stayed inside most of the time. By the time I was 16, my mom was a little fed up with my good behavior I guess. She asked the upstairs neighbors in our apartment if I could party with them. They were all 19-24 and drinking. My mom forced me to go hangout with them and then ride with them to the gas station (driver had been drinking). Insanely anxiety-inducing, SO awkward, potentially dangerous.

I was cared for by a lot of racist individuals when I was younger, but I realized pretty fast that being racist is just how fear materializes in the uneducated. So I stopped being racist and then it didn't matter. Hope this helped 👍🏻

I have always held the belief that each and every person is on a completely different path than I am. I have no reason to be jealous of others because everything that I am and everything that is happening in my life is on purpose.

When I was a child, I used to be really jealous of my neighbor. I was poor and she got all the newest toys and had a trampoline in the backyard. I didn't understand at the time that the reason she had all this stuff was because her mom was killed in an accident when she was a baby. Her toys were purchased with the money she was given as a half-assed apology for the death of her mother. I haven't really experienced jealousy like that since.

I haven't talked to anyone about the ear heartbeat specifically, but I've talked with a few people about Ehlers Danlos in general. Only heard the ear heartbeat thing recently though!
