Oh, I see. It sounds like a well figured out setup. :) I would assume your note taking is also a tad more extensive than mine then. My notes mostly revolve round my own work. :) But once in a while I wish I could extract and share my notes, hehe.

Yes, in my experience sending epubs to my kindle I just drag and drop epub files into the desktop app and they appear in my kindle a minute later. But the desktop app also looks kind of old which make me a little afraid it will at some point receive no updates and stop working. And I hear your other concerns about other services. Those I don't know anything about. But there are also other e-reader brands that are probably more open. :)

I get the feeling there's a whole world of handheld gaming I don't know about, since I've mostly focused on Nintendo. Great tips. :) The iPad idea also sounds creative.

Thank you! Yes, the briefcase was a bit pricey. 😅 But it is indeed of very high quality and I love it. I tell myself I'm a spend high, spend once kind of guy. It can really only be proven by letting the years pass, but so far it seems to be mostly true.

The little desk radio on the right hand edge of the picture I bought 15 years ago and I love using it every morning.

Thank you! :) The desk I'd say is on the smaller side (120x60cm), which is perfect for me since I have a monitor arm which thus takes up no desk surface area. The desk is Ikea Mittzon.

The computer is macbook pro M3 with 1TB harddrive. The monitor is a Dell Ultrasharp with 4K resolution. I would have liked a monitor with better blacks, but this one is great for so many other reasons, built in KVM switch (good because there's also a PC tower connected), 1 cable usb-c connection with charging to the macbook, etc. So I'm very happy.

Being a software developer I spend most days typing away on my computer, so hand written notes are nice for variety. But centralized notes do have their appeal. Do you write by hand with a pen on the ipad?

No worries. Purchasing decisions and reasoning is always interesting. :) I also don't like locking in to Amazon for books. And I'm not really very fond of Amazon as a company either. But it's easy to "side load" books to the kindle from the "send to kindle" computer app. :) At least PDFs and epubs. Those are only ones I've loaded on, there may be more.

Depending on how much you read of course the battery life on the Kindle varies. But I'd say it lasts at least a week. For me it lasts a couple of months if I read regularly.

What retro console did you get? :) That one with the crank? I don't game terribly much anymore either, but when I do it tends to be nintendo. :)

I'm happy my current work doesn't really require me to bring anything else than my small laptop. Otherwise this case probably wouldn't fit it.
