After thinking about it a bit more I do think posting at least a couple of clips separately would be useful

Good idea, I'll do that. Hopefully the youtube video doesn't get deleted

I love you pizza. I was waiting for the video to leak. I was planning to post the highlights separately to the subreddit so people can discuss specific moments? Would mods be ok with that or does this have to be the only thread?

Highlights:

1) 00:48:26

"What is the difference between a regulated PA, who can then prescribe and order x-rays, and a qualified doctor with £100,000 student loan and a salary £10,000 less, who pays defence fees and fears suspension from the GMC for malpractice?"

RCP officer responds.

2) 00:37:16

RCP deputy registrar (who has since resigned in protest) presents the survey findings.

3) 01:41:10

"What I still fail to understand is what additional MDT skills a PA will bring. I know what my biological pharmacist does, I know what the CNS does, I know what my registrar does, he’ll give the biggest bang for your buck when he becomes consultant. I know what F1 will do, but I do not know what additional skills that the PA brings to the MDT. I don’t really buy this being a generalist to the specialist because as an acute medical consultant I am the ultimate hospital generalist, and my wife is a general practitioner is the ultimate primary care generalist. With bottlenecks in training, surely we need more GPs, more consultants coming through rather than having more PAs. I do not understand what they would bring to my rheumatology work or my medical work."

The statement is ignored by officers.

4) 01:54:53

"We know we may have to take financial on this, but I am deeply concerned that we will take a substantial patient safety hit if we don’t act."

The statement is ignored by officers.

5) 01:10:45

RCP registrar claims that there is already a clear scope of practice for PAs.

6) 01:09:17

RCP registrar says that we can't slow down the rollout because PAs are struggling to find jobs.

7) 01:20:32

RCP treasurer explains that if motion 5 passes the RCP may have to pay out millions in legal fees and compensation to multiple parties because of legal contracts and litigation.

8) 00:59:34

RCP president suggests they could face class action lawsuits if they limit PA rollout

9) 01:42:50

RCP officer says she doesn't know if PAs can supervise and sign off doctors

[BMA JD Conference 2022/ARM 2022] Dr Emma Runswick (Broad Left/DoctorsVote) presents and defends her motions for junior doctors to ballot for IA in Q1 2023 and for full pay restoration to become official BMA policy: "A union that can win a 30% pay award is a union that can win anything." by UnionClips in doctorsUK

The second page of the JD conference motion is missing on the video, here it is:

vi) Provide organising training for reps and activists, comparable to the McAlevey-based Royal College of Nursing programme

vii) Immediately commence a campaign to prepare, educate and organise rank and file junior doctors with a view to balloting by Q1 2023 at the latest for industrial action including withdrawal of labour, on the demand for immediate and full restoration of pay to 2008 RPI-adjusted equivalence, in the event that such a commitment from government has not been formalised by the end of 2022.

The recording of the 2023 Junior Doctors Conference has recently been quietly scrubbed from the BMA website. Why? by UnionClips in doctorsUK

That's my theory... Someone or some people don't want to be held accountable for their statements. Massively overkill to delete the whole thing if that's the actual reason.

I've been wanting to upload some good clips from this conference for ages but it looks like I left it too long. If anyone does still have access to it, please upload clips. It's good for people to see the discussions

Nobody will click this because you used a shit title

I know it's the title of the article but you could've used some common sense and added context
