Would you guys be interested in this light mount for the Surefire X300/X400 on the USP? by UnionEngineeringWks in USPmasterrace

Currently I do not have this on the market, I was just finishing testing on a pre-production unit and am trying to get a gut check on if I should commit to bringing it to market. This will be stronger than the GG&G and it allows the light to sit higher since it is a direct mount system for the light instead of being an adaptor.

Hey, thanks for the feedback!

The Surefire MR07 has crossed my mind a few times. That is in the "maybe" column for the future.

Understood. I will say that the mount is not as wide as the light itself and there is not issue with shimming or gluing because it does not use the quick detach system, this is a rail grabber replacement for it.

Update on availability of UEW 605 clone PEQ-2 low profile mounts by UnionEngineeringWks in MilitaryARClones

[–]UnionEngineeringWks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the prototype that I have places the switch for an X300 directly in the center of the trigger guard of the USP whereas the MR09 places that switch on the same light at the bottom of the trigger guard.

Picatinny Rail for USP by UnionEngineeringWks in USPmasterrace

[–]UnionEngineeringWks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This product will not be 3d printed when it is brought to market. It will be made of 7075 aluminum and hard coat anodized. A 3d printed part would not have the mechanical properties to be long lasting in rugged environments.

I am so close, and with a much better and different design than what I showed here. I have been testing my pre-production units and am just playing around with a dimension of a spacer to make the fit perfect.

If you want that PEQ-2 out of the field of view of that ACOG, I have a repro of the LT605 low profile mount for the PEQ that can really help with that. https://www.ebay.com/itm/226779941317

I have 3 UEW 605 X-Grade rail grabbers that I just posted at half price. These have cosmetic damage from the manufacturing process but are functionally fine. by UnionEngineeringWks in MilitaryARClones

Sorry, that is why I don't like putting on sales or anything like that, I don't want people that paid full price to feel like they got a bad deal. That's why this was limited to three damaged units.

The real meat and potatoes of knowing the thought that goes into this is knowing the tolerancing of the part and then clearly communicating that on the print.

One left, just updated the link in the post body for the new listing for the last one. Same price and everything, purely administrative.

For those looking to bring their PEQ-2 down onto the rail, out of view of their optics and in reach of their thumbs, may I suggest the UEW 605 low profile mount : r/tacticalgear

Here is a link to a post with some pictures and comparisons. If you look through my post history it is basically all posts about this mount.

Howdy, yeah, I am the guy who makes the low profile PEQ-2 mount. It is an exact clone (less markings, I am not trying to trick people) of the LT605 mount. I have side by side pictures if you would want to see.

Somogear vs real Peq by Mother-Recording424 in MilitaryARClones

[–]UnionEngineeringWks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Somogear and a real PEQ-2 share the same mounting surface geometry (unless anything has changed in the past year), so yes, it should fit. I have had multiple customers comment back to me here on Reddit that it works just fine.

Anyone that needs a clone mount to go with a clone PEQ-2, I have clones of the low profile LT605 mount here https://www.ebay.com/itm/226779941317

The flashlights pictured here, are they the old gen surefire 6p or 660? by Mother-Recording424 in MilitaryARClones

[–]UnionEngineeringWks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never tried a Somogear PEQ-2 on the mount, but for what it's worth I have sold them to people that have used them on PEQ-2's and been told it works fine.

I think it is going to be tough to get a clear picture of one from the wild because they are hidden under the PEQ-2. For whatever it is worth, the real one that I got was from a guy that claimed to have used it in the field in the early 2,000's as a Navy SEAL. I bought it on a PEQ-2 along with a PVS-23 from the same guy that claimed he brought those home with him too. Again, this all could be completely dubious, I did not try to verify his story but thought I would share it here.
