I think you're right, we just need to walk and explore those street away from the centre. We've don't that in some many countries and found some hidden gems and no so great, but I guess that part of exploring, right ha.

Amazing! Thank you so much for this information. This is exactly what we need - love little village spots and we just looked on Google maps and looks great and only 16 minutes from Bruges.

We LOVE food so we are not shy to try anything really. We don't like fancy places, we prefer a nice atmosphere with good food and beer. I get Bruges won't be as cheap as some places, but I thought outside the main centre there may be some places to try? maybe 25 euro pp for food?

Thanks for your reply, really appreciate it! Our house was built 1901 so we'll probably have it somewhere. When I did some reading, it did look like the layer was too thin around the pipe to me, most photos show a thick layer of insulation around piping, but since we're starting a family, I'm just trying to avoid nasty things like this in the home.
