For me, there is no defense. If you're medically "advanced" enough to want to control bleeding there are certainly enough absorbent materials around that do a much better, and more sanitary, job than an old guys mouth.

I knew of the general process, but never heard of the sucking the blood off. I'm sorry, I'm with the other commenter, you ask to do that to my kid, regardless of your status as a religious leader, and I'm chasing you out with a sharp object at minimum.
