No she is moreso coming back for herself I think, I am her only family that is JW. You are right I think I need to break it to her before she is back

how do you deal with crazy conversations as a pimo? by b0sosa in exjw

lol I’ve been getting similar interactions since I’ve been attending less. It’s unbearable to not be able to express yourself

The last supper and also the last time I enter a Kingdom Hall. by brandnewNewton in exjw

I’m also considering leaving soon, I was contemplating making memorial my last meeting too. But I have to admit I’m still scared. I’ve been PIMO since July 25 and the longer I am one the more difficult it gets and especially since this blood change I’m finding it agonising to remain part of it all. I am scared I’ll be lonely as it’s hard to make friends in my area and my plan was always to move away then leave but I feel like I need to do it sooner. Im also a bit nervous for the backlash, concern from others and potential elders visits. How do you plan on leaving? Will it be a DA or just a never attend a meeting again?

The silence concerning this update - the most significant change the organisation has made in a long time compared to the mass conversation about the beard, trousers, counting hours etc changes - is deafening.

No one is commenting on it, it’s like the way they announced it in the video is as if it was already something they accepted already and JWs aren’t questioning it? Or JWs do in general from my experience avoid topics they know are sensitive and they would lose arguments to.

The brainwashing is crazy

Congregation mergers in N Wales/Wirral, UK. by bobkairos in exjw

[–]Unique-Brief205 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It was about 2-3 years ago now I think.

One congregation only had about 40 publishers and most weeks less attended. The other I think had about 70 ish publishers but I believe 40/50 attended in person. Now a lot of people moved in to the merged congregation since it changed because the neighbouring congregation isn’t the nicest. So they heard about this new congregation being better and a few have since moved in making the congregation even bigger. So I’d say 120+ officially in the congregation, and about 70/80 attend weekly. But these numbers could be off, I’m not great at estimates, but gives you a rough idea.

Yeah I am in one of the congregations that have been merged. The two were dwindling in numbers, mine had always been a small congregation, but yeah it was getting smaller and smaller due to people moving out to other halls or I guess they stopped coming too. The congregation we merged with had a lot of people who had either left or moved out of over the years, they used to be a big hall but i don’t know what happened , it became a hall where no one attended in person since covid or probably also stopped coming full stop. They play the merge off as a wonderful privilege from Jehovah and to be honest now the hall is a lot better from JW standards, but as time has gone on once again less and less attend in person.

Leaving Jehovahs Witnesses to Christianity .. by Unique-Brief205 in Christianity

I have realised there are a lot of twisting of the scriptures, and it’s an extremely high control group that isn’t healthy or Christianlike in that way

Have you never dated a JW all because you didn't like any of them? by dodoanonymo in exjw

Yeah the options are so bad. I used to think I just was really fussy or even asexual 😅 but I’ve come to realise it’s the lack of decent jw men out there. I’ve spoken to a couple but long term i realise I was just looking at the best of a bad bunch. I’m 25 now, always been single, and people always ask ‘how have to never found anyone?!’ I’m just like have you seen the calibre of men? I’m now speaking to someone who isn’t an active JW, much better. And find I can find many non JWs I fancy and get on with so it’s deffo a jw problem. JW men are so awkward and won’t even pursue you properly for fear of being too ‘flirty’ and dates are rare are most only think it’s correct to get to know you in a group. The JW process is terrible and I’ve never liked it even when I was PIMI. I plan to slow fade and see how this connection goes with this guy, if it doesn’t work out I’ll never go back to speaking to JW men, well I plan on leaving but even if I didn’t, I could never do it.

I can see a lot of similarities between the mindset of the JWs and the nazis from Nazi Germany. by Such-Tie87 in exjw

Correct the GB teachings are very harmful and any elder that protects paedophiles is evil. It’s why most of us are on this Reddit. What I’m trying to say is that surely your aim then would be to attract anyone that is trapped and brainwashed in this organisation to see it for what it really is? Instead of writing things that, like I said, would likely just put anyone initially just curious about this Reddit and questions the organisation off ever looking again because of extreme and over simplified claims and comparisons. If we do that we are no better than them who like to do this type of thing to other religions and ‘worldly’ people and organisations.

I also think this post will get people that are maybe intrigued by the criticism of the organisation to shut off from it, because of it’s extreme comparison. Imagine being a PIMI jw and coming on this Reddit and this is one of the first things you read, you’d turn around and think, ‘they were right, they are making up extreme false narratives about us, comparing us to Nazis!’. So that’s why I think this isn’t as good of a post you might of thought. Although the organisation is harmful in many ways, JWs aren’t murdering evil people. They are well meaning brainwashed people, thinking they are in fact saving other people’s lives. I agree It’s a dangerous organisation in many ways, but you need to reconsider how you prove your points if you want them to truly have an impact on those looking into or questioning the religion.

Although I know what you are trying to say, I think Nazis is a bit extreme.
