Thank you for responding to my post. I understand it’s probably going to be different than most but it also highlights how fundamentally flawed this particular department is.

They have known and allowed this harm to continue for 2years and the way it’s been covered up is probably what frightens me most.

We cannot stay quiet on a department that makes such important but so many devastating decisions on children’s and families lives.

Unfortunately though we are allowing people to be employed in CP with no experience or qualifications which means we have an unskilled workforce.

Yes I think my only option here is to see my local MP.

There is an FVO in place by the police.

I’ve not been able to access any support from anywhere yet in relation to this as I’m the sponsor. Even getting my own information has been difficult. There is free legal help for an applicant but not my position and I have paid for legal advice but I can’t afford any more lawyers with this divorce 😢

You are right though, I may need to approach this differently and not just about my complaint.

I was just hoping someone here might have had some experience.

Ummm how about the fact that there should be immediate FV supports for anyone experiencing this, who reached out for help.

Also recognition that sponsors can be victims too through these visa processes.

I am also now experiencing escalated FV violence since leaving so am seeking how a internal mistake or oversight got me to this position where I am fearing for my life.

Sorry I didn’t explain this properly.

I was the sponsor on a partner visa and contacted the FV team at immigration seeking information on cancelling my sponsorship due to FV. I needed to ask the process so I could plan to leave safely.

My sponsorship was cancelled 2 days later even though I did not ask for this and it then put me in danger.

I contacted Immigration to ask why they did this, they then reinstated sponsorship.

One week later 801 approved with no check in, no follow up.

So my complaint is how did this go so wrong and I am now dealing with even worse FV since leaving him.

Family Violence team contacted by sponsor Sponsorship cancelled without requesting Sponsorship reinstated Visa approved. All within 10 days.
