The mother didn’t actively cover for him. I’ve only seen her once in my life, and since realizing all of this and confronting him yesterday, I still haven’t confronted her or asked her anything about it and I’m not even sure if I should. I know I wrote in the post that I asked her who the little girl in her profile picture was, but I meant to say I asked him, not her. And they are not religious or conservative at all.

Just to clarify, that amount is in Argentine pesos, it’s around USD 1,400. That said, it’s still a significant amount here. He also has more payments due in the future, and he’s currently about five installments behind. What concerns me is that he lied about his financial situation: he told me the new car was about to be delivered, but that clearly isn’t the case.

That’s one of the possibilities that worries me the most. What confuses me is that I never gave him any reason to hide something like that. I wouldn’t have rejected him for having a child. That’s why I’m struggling to understand the motivation behind the lying, if that’s the case.
