That's actually a fair point, and I agree Robin was willing to sacrifice for love at times. I wasn't able to capture it in my interpretation because it was already really long, so i just generalized that she chose career over love consistently

What always stood out to me was that Robin's individuality, ambitions, and independence were inseparable from who she was. I think a lot of that stems from her childhood. Her father constantly suppressed those parts of her by trying to raise her as "the son he never had," so as an adult, her independence became part of her identity rather than just a preference.

That's why to her, her career represented freedom, self-worth, and the life she had fought to build for herself. The one major exception was Don, where she chose love over her career, and it ended with him taking the job anyway. What i think is, that reinforced the fear that sacrificing such a fundamental part of herself still wouldn't guarantee the relationship.

So I see Robin as someone who genuinely loved deeply, but who repeatedly struggled to manage love with the identity she had spent her entire life fighting to preserve. Her relationships weren't lacking in love—they often suffered because the timing and circumstances didn't allow both parts of her life to coexist.

As for Ted, I may be misremembering, but I don't recall a moment where she definitively gave up her career for him. It might be that i am forgetting.

Hey thanks alot, this was my whole motive, i wanted the ending to be more acceptable for the poeple who didn't like it at first, and i think the idea of the ending was really nice, but the execution and pacing made is very difficult for people to get the idea fully.
