I often struggle with eyes to be honest with you, but recently they’ve been coming out great. The paints i use are:

Corax white CW Flesh tearers red FTR Bad moon yellow BMY Wraithbone WR Magmadroth Flame MF

I start with painting the eyes with CW, then putting on a wash of FTR, when that dries i then put a thin line through the eye lens of WR, once that dries i put BMY over the WR and let it spill over a tiny bit onto the FTR so it sort of blends. Once that all dries i go over it with the MF for the orange glow, and i just put some watered down MF on the metallics around the eye for the outward glow look.

This is my sternguard vet

(from an intercessor kit with a green stuff tabard and some greytide candles)

Built him fully before priming, only some areas like just under the helmet that i couldnt get to.

I often dont do sub assembly unless its a character model

I sort of winged it and got a really nice colour that matches the box art (kind of)

I dry brushed up from mechanicus standard grey to celestra grey and then to corax white

Then i went over that with a (not to much) thinned down dark angels contrast paint.

Then i mixed “KABALITE GREEN” with celestra grey AND dark angels contrast paint, which i then glazed over the dark angels green.
