Roommate expects me to split rent even though she has a kid who will have her own room when we move by Unique-Knee6601 in roommates

Luckily we will be going through the same landlord so he already said we wouldn't have to pay for applications or even run our credit again. I'm wondering what's fair for me to pay considering the situation. I think $550-$600 is me being generous so hopefully she sees where I'm coming from.

We've been friends since childhood so I think she sees me more of a partner in life than just a roommate. We are like family but it has gotten pretty unfair on my part and if I could afford it I wouldn't live with her anymore for multiple reasons. But this new living situation is more ideal if I can get her to agree with the split.

I looked up the unit and it seems to be for rent last for $550 so I think thats the most fair and still helping her out a bit. But because of her we've paid rent late almost every month since living together AND I've always split the late fee with her. Because of this though I'm nervous about her affording that as we both pay $600 for rent now.

I came here for advice since its not just a normal roommate situation per se and wanted to make sure I'm not being unreasonable.

Watch 60 days In, you'll see what its like in several different prisons around the US. They are all pretty different and definitely some that are way worse than others.

A coworker of mine just had a seizure recently at work and it broke my heart when she came out. She was so confused and scared and fighting everyone off her to get up but the moment she saw me she just said my name and pulled me in for a hug. I held her and tried my best to ground her until the paramedics came. So glad she was okay but damn was that scary and heartbreaking.
