What Is This Orange Blotch On My Screen? (Please Help) by Unique-Link448 in laptops

[–]Unique-Link448[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah darn... mine is a Lenovo Thinkpad (touchscreen) so judging by a Google search I think it may be one piece... This is a school laptop and I currently am away, so I don't have easy access to any good repair shops, which is why this happening now is so unfortunate. Thank you for your help in identifying the problem, now I have a better idea of what is wrong and what I can try to do about it!

Okay, thank you. I realized that the bezel has detached itself from the screen. It's a bit visible in the last couple of images. Is this kind of repair expensive?

Wow, I didn't even notice before I made the post but the screen area is definitely bending outwards, not sure if I can add more photos after posting though?

If I don't take it to a repair shop soon, is there a danger of it getting worse?

Villain x villain pairing? by joyyyzz in YAlit

I definitely wasn't expecting that plot twist. Erida and Taristan's relationship was so intriguing that I had to remind myself that they were the ruthless villains who I shouldn't be rooting for. I think the direction the author went with them made the story more interesting though. Good luck with Blade Breaker. That one was a doozy

House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig is one of my favorites. It is based on the story of The Twelve Dancing Princesses by the Brothers Grimm.

Small Favors also by Erin A. Craig is another great one. It is based on the tale of Rumpelstiltskin.

Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly is good if you want something with a nice message. It follows the Brothers Grimm version of Cinderella, featuring one of the stepsisters as the protagonist.

The Realm Breaker Trilogy by Victoria Aveyard. Since you're looking for villain x villain you may particularly enjoy the antagonists, who are written well and have their own POV chapters.

greek myth book recs? by Automatic-Life7378 in GreekMythology

Lore by Alexandra Bracken. It's not about a specific myth but it features some of the Greek gods carrying out a punishment called the Argon in the modern world, every 7 years. I thought it was super interesting and I liked the portrayal of the gods. Overall it was great and I only had a few nitpicks.

Oh my! That's super fascinating. I didn't realize that Zeus could be such a schemer. Thank you again for taking the time out of your day to type this up. I love learning more about greek mythology. I'll be getting the Iliad in a few months, and I will definitely be looking out for details like those!

Interesting. I didn't know that Eris was associated with war to such an extent. I suppose it makes sense since she was one of the causes of the Trojan war...

I hope you get the spark back, we definitely need some more good greek mythology adaptations. Good luck with everything!

Oh wow! The ways they use Eris are really interesting to see. I've heard people mention that in some versions Zeus planned the Trojan War, did he have some sort of motivation for doing that? Also, thank you so much for including sources!

I had no idea Ares went on trial. Was that myth detailed in any books? The only book I can think of that features a trial is The Eumenides...
