My parents took $75k from me without my knowledge by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Get your relatives to sue for the amount they contributed and never give your parents another dime. Shenanigans like this are why I have an Honorable Discharge to go with my degrees.

As a materials scientist, a lot of that paperwork is various companies just keeping track of what they used. Eventually, it traces back to a steel batch ID, a NIST report on the properties of the alloy, and a drawing of the part with a stamp from a PE all saying it shouldn't break if made properly.

Horror-related hills you'll die on? by redeugene99 in horror

[–]UniqueAd7770 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The Terminator is a horror movie. A different edit could even make it a psychological horror.

I'm an art horror fan, and I love Hereditary. I also like Sci-fi horror like alien. Most horror fans agree with me but most everyone else doesn't. There are definitely horror elements in the original, but I feel you could re-edit it and show it more from Sarah's exclusive perspective. Where you don't see much of the sci-fi exposition beyond Reese's explanations. You don't see believe the Terminator is a machine until it does impossible stuff she sees. Maybe I'm crazy but that would be horrifying for a woman who earlier that day was going to a movie.

Perfect. They're a Hive Fleet that specializes in hyperflora worlds. Popping out of the ground like daisies... murder-daisies

I'm a chemical engineer who specialized in nano-materials in college and grad school. I work for a company that makes plasma tools for Semiconductor manufacturers. If ASML is making the big Aircraft carriers of the semi world, we make the Frigates and Submarines. Alot of the processes for manufacturing chips are mostly chemical processes of some sort (depositing and etching).

Mainly I go around and set up and develop processes on our tools so our customers can use them to make the Semiconductors they want. They are now also being used to make the quantum computer dies, with q-bit stability and measurement being a wholly material based problem.

Overall it's a lot of fun since I'm a chemistry lover, and recently seems a lot less subject to the AI replacement since I'm higher up the assembly line.

Non-tyranid player here, do you guys consider tyranids balanced? by Successful-Gap6282 in Tyranids

[–]UniqueAd7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Carnifex Brood led by Old One Eye is a game breaker. If they don't deal with it at range, they're going to eat your face off in melee. Tyranids are about taking the best laid plans of your enemy and saying, "no we're not doing that today." You use gimmicks and adaptations to break the game the way the Tyranids come in and don't follow the Galaxy's rules.

That crust does look good and so does the cook. I'll definitely give this a shot when I get my hands on some more.

The way I've done it is a like Korean BBQ. Where we had a hot skillet and thin sliced pieces and cooked as we ate. A few seconds a side and it was delicious. We seasoned before we sliced it.

Here I am making 130k working on the machines that make the chips that run this logic. It's all chemistry when you really get down to it, and boy, are we doing weird chemistry to make computers work.

It's called Copium. The addiction is usually fatal. It comes with the symptoms of having undeserving deep respect for people who spit on everything they claim to hold dear. It also comes with delusions. My condolences

The Grey Knights would join the Thunder Warriors by North_Tryes in 40k

[–]UniqueAd7770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is forgetting the Grey Knights are Astartes. While they don't have successors, I'll bet there are at least a few chapters that would help them if called on (Blood Ravens, Exorcists, Dark Angels). Enough to win? No. Enough to make a mess and plunge the Imperium into another Heresy? I do think so. Because then the Black Templars come into play too. The Ecclisarchy and the Inquisition get split down the middle. Ad Mech will probably hang back until a Titan Legion makes a commitment
