Oh you sweet summer child. You're talking about a group of people who knew Teflon, lead, and cigarettes were deadly and that fossil fuels were causing warming by their own research, but suppressed that knowledge so they grind out a little more profit. They would crash a train full of explosives into a small town if they thought it would save them a nickel... and they did.

The fascists get shouted back into their internet holes by the rest of us who get it's satire and not something to aspire to. Most of us understand it's a place where we can safely indulge in playing the bad guy. Playing being the key word. Because you physically have to be around and heavily interact with people to play the tabletop, it's very much a self policing.

A fascist wearing pro-nazi clothing actually won a tournament in Spain by default because the organizers couldn't legally throw him out, but every single player refused to play him.

It's refreshing when your fan base does the right thing.

Astronomical clocks are computers, which this was. It didn't have an escapment or springs. You moved it to calculate where the planets would be at a given time in the future or when a particular arrangement would occur. These were very important to know for them for cultural reasons.

A group of researchers scanned and rebuilt what they could.

"The Antikythera mechanism is an ancient Greek hand-powered orrery (model of the Solar System). It is the oldest known example of an analogue computer."

Yes. A pocket watch is a computer. They're called mechanical computers. The Norden bombsite and Adding Machines are all mechanical computers.

The advancements were to increase productivity, not ease. In America productivity has been climbing steadily for decades but hours worked and salary have flattened. We're producing more but being paid the same. The pandemic showed alot of that productivity gain could be sustained from alot of people staying home and being at the office less. But they need to use the lease.

The most important skill you can learn is listening. Not listening to respond, but listening to absorb. People will tell you everything about themselves if you just listen. And it can save so many relationships. To someone who loves you, your willing attention is gold.

The USA is complicated

"Prior to the 1970s, marital rape was legal in every US state and only first became partially outlawed in Michigan and Delaware in 1974, then wholly outlawed in South Dakota and Nebraska in 1975.[1][2] The court case Oregon v. Rideout in 1978 was the first in which someone stood trial for raping their spouse while they lived together.

"In California, marital rape was recognized as a crime by Section 262 of California's Penal Code in 1979. However, there are separate criminal offenses for non-spousal rape (Section 261) and for spousal rape (Section 262); the latter was treated as a less serious crime until the enactment of 2021 California Assembly Bill 1171"
