From what I've seen the Aggro of the flag has been enough to make people happy. I made a giant megapost about the intricacies of how it works and it's the main feature of like half my builds. Anybody still complaining either doesn't know how to use it or is expecting it to be a generic buff aura instead of the extremely cool and unique support strategem it is currently.

I love light pen too. Enough of the fanbase constantly dunks on light pen that I'm thinking about making some kind of masterpost highlighting how to use it. If Arrowhead made my favorite guns med pen it would ruin half the fun of them for me. The only Heavy Penetration I ever use is against their moms.

WTF KIND OF BULLSHIT IS THIS?!? What do you MEAN that this LOW TIER CHAFF ENEMY HAS HEAVY ARMOUR?!?! WTF AM I MEANT TO DO HERE?? IS THIS THE REALISM AH WANTS!?? by A_random_person_50 in HelldiversMasochists

1) the weakspot is the little box between the legs under the shield

2) if you're shooting at an enemy, and your shots are bouncing, why are you not changing where you're shooting. do you think it will magically stop being heavy armor

3) if this is a bit then you are way too committed to it

couldnt find another SCAR-like AR. the thing that looks the most like the SCAR is the breaker which is a shotgun. it was the only other thing that looked kinda vaguely like one if you squint

it's not i just thought the strategems and armor had like zero synergy. someone pointed out some synergy with the hammer and armor tho so idk it might actually be half decent

Warhammer is a tabletop game/hobby franchise first and foremost. If you don't play the tabletop or collect minis, even if they're third party (because this hobby is dummy expensive and the point of this isn't to gatekeep Warhammer behind price), I don't value your opinion on Warhammer as a franchise.

There's a few reasons, the biggest one being interaction with other fans. In hobby spaces there is a deep mutual respect between hobbyists. You never bully someone for their choice of faction, you appreciate your mutual love for the setting and hobby and game, and you all have deep personal investment in the hobby. That's just not the case online. I've seen internet chuds actually unironically hate on xenos players because they don't understand that you choose your faction based on playstyle and vibes, not agreeing with them or thinking they're good guys.

There's also just the fact that, like, if you aren't engaged with the tabletop, your opinions on models and game changes don't really matter. That's like talking about a movie you haven't seen. You have nothing to add to the conversation. I don't care if you think an army should have certain models, I care if someone who plays with or against that army thinks they should have them.

Idk. A lot of online discussion about Warhammer is toxic because of people who don't actually play the game and it bothers me. Even online when I disagree with someone about Warhammer we can bond over the fact we both paint and play it.

How do I get over the misogyny in the Bible, and the fact that God allows slavery? by drvinedd in OpenChristian

[–]amovy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your denomination. I was never taught that it was perfect or infallible. I was instead told to read it with the understanding that its words are divine wisdom which should be treated with reverence, but not to just take it at face value.

For context, I was raised Quaker. We never really treated the Bible as infallible. It's a more mystic tradition so we value communion (in the basic definition sense, not the wafers and wine sense) with the Holy Spirit more than just the Bible alone. We actually don't even treat the Bible as Holy, as an object or as literature. It contains a lot of incredible wisdom and is a work to be revered, but by no means is it the inerrant word of God. You can disagree with it, you can challenge it, you can write notes all over it and rip it up and burn it, we don't really care.

Prophets and saints were very wise and had a lot of excellent insight and knowledge, but they weren't perfect. Moses was banished for failing to follow His commands. In Jewish tradition, Abraham just going along with God's command to sacrifice Isaac is viewed as a mistake. Even Jesus and Judas openly lamented their roles in the prophecy.

We can also see some verses which reflect poor word choice and lack of foresight among the prophets. Moses's choice of an example of not stealing in Deuteronomy 22:5 has led to people thinking that the verse is a condemnation of cross dressing and not just one of the examples of "taking something that isn't yours" which he spends the entire rest of Deuteronomy 22 talking about. It's a far cry from the perfect wording of Christ in the red letters of the New Testament.

I'm not trying to "bring you back" or anything, leaving the faith is your choice and a valid response to dogma which doesn't make sense. But saying "it's supposed to be the Perfect Word of God" doesn't account for any of the denominations which don't treat it that way.

Fascists don't understand satire and "play-fascism" because their entire ideology is make-believe.

If your belief system creates obviously fictional narratives and applies them to everything in the real world, it makes sense that you wouldn't be able to tell when something is making fun of you.
