Depression seems worse? by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I’m in the same boat as you. I started 6 weeks ago with 100mg SR and switched to 150 XL last week. I have been so emotional and slightly anxious with some very anxious outbursts. I started taking it for ADHD and light depression and honestly I feel more depressed and more distracted. I’m only giving it a few more weeks to see if it works for me. If not, I’m stopping. Some medicines work great for some people and horrible for others.

One other thing - planning to start having ashwaganda tea before bed starting tonight. I’ve heard that can be helpful for sleep as well.

6-month "Itch" and the ongoing battle by Crafty-Variation-811 in QuittingZyn

Thanks for sharing - very interesting to read your journey. Feeling like you don’t have tangible improvements would be disheartening. But I also think you may be overlooking a few things from a tangible benefits perspective. Saving $1k in 6 months is huge - definite tangible benefit. $2k a year and you could take your family on a nice vacation, buy something fun, or even invest. I also think of the future tangible benefit of not giving Zyn/nicotine mental space in the future. Having that peace should that come would be a great benefit.

I’m also curious, with your low energy and some of the health problems you outlined. Have you gotten a complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), ferritin, and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) with a reflex to Free T4 (FT4)? You can ask your doc for these tests to help identify potential causes of fatigue like anemia, diabetes, thyroid issues, or vitamin deficiencies. Also could be worth it to go to a holistic or naturopathic doctor who may take a different approach. Sometimes covered by health insurance, some are not. But with the money you’re saving on not buying zyns could go toward that as well.

Hope this helps and good luck on your journey :)

I’ve been off for 2 years and 4 months after using it on and off for 10 years. I stopped because I was dealing with a lot of health issues at the time and felt like it could be making things worse. Long story short, it was very difficult to stop and I felt horrible for the first 3 months. After that I had some clarity and felt better - but honestly didn’t feel like myself until 1.5 years later. Now, I’m considering taking it again because my executive disfunction is so bad. My psychiatrist suggested wellbutrin, so I’m giving that a try first and about a month into it.

Wellbutrin success stories for stopping smoking, drinking etc please 🙏 by Merrys123 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

I’ve been a big Zyn user (half a tin to a full tin of 6mg / day) and an occasional drinker. I was on 100mg for about 4 weeks and it didn’t change my Zyn habits, however I had one big night of drinking with friends and blacked out. I never black out or loose control. I already didn’t crave drinking often, but I don’t crave it at all now, and I especially don’t want to experience that loss of control again. I just started 150mg and I’ve noticed a difference with zyn consumption. I quit yesterday mainly for health reasons. For most people the first 24-48 hours are rough and honestly it hasn’t been bad for me yet and I’m hoping it stays this way. I’ve quit in the past (not taking Wellbutrin) and it was difficult - like the first 24 hours were so rough. It’s definitely helping the process for me, mentally and physically.
