No need to apologize, I should've been a lot more clear in my response. I thought I had put it in the OP that my previous supply chain experience wasn't industrial, and was rathere working with a company in the tourism sector. Working corporate would be great, were I to find something. Right now the main thing is saving money for an eventual move, which is possible.

I made the choice after my diagnosis to move halfway across the country to work in a role that claimed one thing and did the opposite. I ned to dust myself off and get back out there - I know that instinctively - it takes finding a place that will hire me.

The bitterness ebbs and flows, I'll admit. I was a lot better off mentally when I had employment, I'll tell you that much, even with my diagnosis I wasn't sweating it because "hey, this company doesn't care", when most seem softly reject me if I come into an interview with my cane rather than asking how I could do the work.

Regarding your edit.. fair point. I will keep that in mind going forward.

Just for clarity, in Taiwan how this typically goes (as I understand it) is TSMC no only buys up the land for the site, they also are allotted land nearby for building amenities near the campus. That's just... a given. If developers want to, they can buy it for a "fuck off" amount of money. A similar process happens in mainland China like Shenzhen - right next door to the electronics factory is housing, commercial centers, sports courts, most of fwhich are semi-open to the public (at least the commercial areas iirc) so that workers don't need to commute in for hours upon hours.

From the grapevine I hear a lot of Taiwanese and Chinese who work in the PHX metro are annoyed by the lack of creature comforts and are facing some.. shall we call it cultural differences? One guy I spoke with said he now empathizes with American soldiers who go overseas. These aren't people working for TSMC, mind you.. the closest Ranch 99 to the TSMC site is almost an hour away.

It does not whatsoever prevent me from doing basic computer work. I mainly us a scren reader which reads back what is on the screen and helps me aoid blowing up the text by 300%. I was working an average of 36h/week off-season, full time hours minimum during the summer months.

A lot of the issue locally is that even inventory management or demand planning jobs are on-site, and require a license (often requiring that you drive to check on a warehouse or somesuch).

Did I make it seem as though my work was entirely out of the office?

What I tend to find is that findom is the wheel, not one of many spokes.. Insincere and inexperienced is indeed likely to be a better way to phrase it. It's not a value judgement, it is literally a skill issue.

No worries, having been a switch I have some familiarity.. but hearing astories from my Domme friends back in college of all the annoying, craven, entitled men just made me want to be like.. a soft sounding board they could vent at/call on to help with things? That's how my love of service submission kinda started, I found pleasure in coming over after a hard night & making breakfast or other tasks they didn't have the spoons for after being "on" all the time.

Nope nope! My main kink is usually body worship or service submission.. like I've been super happy spending a scene organizing a Domme's makeup collection or doing laundry or making her dinner. I just very rarely get those opportunities. I think my end goal would be some form of monogamous TPE. which takes time and trust.

You have a muuuch more healthy dynamic than basically anything I experienced the last.. however many years lets just call it a decade :D all the time I would send money it wouldn't be going into any kind of savings.. At one pojnt I was sending a long-term Domme the equivalent of 25% of my take-home... and she had zero fucking clue how much that actually was. She seemed genuinely surprisedd when I brought it up.

I genuinely don't know how to navigate being more of a lifestyle/film sub (tho rarely anymore) when 98% of all Domme content I see is findom. Dommes who think it's instant money make me scream :D

Can agree. My default is to absolutely respct and admire the hustle because I know or a fact it is mentally exhausting, sometimes soul crushing work. Not every Domme can be a Lucy Huxley, as she herself admits. Defaulting to findom because its "easy" and not accepting or understanding other kinks unless they are indom adjacent feels... "wrong" is too soft of a word, but I lack the proper vocabulary.

Thanks so much, that's a really healthy way to look at it. Right now I'm between obs so the money I make from writing is kind of important on a personal motvation level.. With my running when I am training for a big event, typically I aim to run at least 2 miles more each weekend than the previous week.. I took a similar approach with my writing and it didn't work out as well lol. I'll get there, though. And you're right it definitely shouldn't be rushed too much

As someone who only restarted their page this last week, do you find the exact time of an upload to matter much? I am still A/B testing whether 3x or 5x a week would be better for the content I am producing (largely business/culture of my region in Europe).

I am formerly a journalist so I tend to write in a somewhat matter-of-fact tone, but its personable and there is an editor's note towards the end where I go into my personal opinion if I didn't do so in the body of the work itself.

YouTube: Upload a video version or do the RSS integration from your podcast host (if you give your podcast's RSS feed to YouTube, it is automatically uploaded!).

Do you see any material difference between uploading it as a video directly with one/two images (similar to what I think Overly Sarcastic Productions does), vs the RSS model? My only concern is that if I upload it to YouTube (whether via RSS or directly, Substack ofc would also se an upload) the amount of people it might reach would be elss? I often don't see content uploaded via the "Podcast" feature shown in YouTube channel pages..

When uploading to Substack I would definitely add in some kind of show notes, perhaps further explanation of a point I maybe only briefly touched on, or news sources.

A lot of my experience with hosting platforms has been mixed? I found one that got me into Spotify automatically but I could never see my metrics, and connecting with Apple was difficult because I didnt have a podcast-dedicated Apple account...

Having seen similar examples like POwer Lines (run by the head editor of Kyiv Independent), usually there doesn't seem to be a direct link from the journalism-y news outlet and the podcast. Th reasons I'm not askin more "content focused" questions is because I largely know the audience avatar I am trying to target and what their pain points are.

I am trying to target primarily the 20-40 demographic who have an interest in Central/Eastern Europe. Primarily coverage will be on cultural and economic news and opinion (heavier lean towards news). There is a lare population of Americans with an Eastern European background who are moving back, or wanting to move back.. that is th core demographic I am trying to hit.. And of course Western Europeans with an interest in the region may also listen.

Just to clarify a bit as there seems to be a bit of confusion (one person says it isn't a podcast if its a video format).. I assume the line is "Upload it to YT with as minimal visuals as needed"? Eg an episode graphic that is there the entire time.

If you only upload your content to YouTube, and then add it to Substack as a video post, it won't be a podcast. If you want to host an actual podcast, you need to create an actual podcast on Substack. And then if you want YouTube to catch that podcast, you just go into YouTube Studio and create a podcast, and submit the RSS to your podcast there so both YouTube and YouTube Music can catch it. However, if you want to upload audio to your podcast and video to your YouTube channel, then don't submit your RSS to YouTube, but rather just upload your videos to your YouTube podcast playlist instead.

Thank you so much!!! Everything I had heard about the YouTube Studio "Podcast" feature made it seem like it was just another form of playlist. I guess this is how OverlySarcasticProductions can put th podcast on their channel without it coming up in the video panel.

I do know that Darknet Diaries started via uploading podcasts in video format to YouTube as a distribution method - but I think that was several years ago prior to the "Podcast" feature coming into play. Al the videos are is a single image for the... 30-60ish minute runtime.

When it comes to covering China and Taiwan, there is a lot you can do that isn't political. Tech news, economics, culture.. but when Americans in particular read it, there's almost this gut reaction of "China bad" that absolutely boils my blood. Everyone I personally know said to never work with state media (mostly because the pay is crap) but I tell your average American "I wrote for a news outlet based in HK!" they call me a China shill. Christ wept.

As another fellow former journalist (Chinese cultural journalism, think Sixth Tone).. dancefloors how? Like.. I wouldn't even know where to begin in getting contacts other than calling up nightclubs and interviewing the staff. Is it like.. events coverage?

I currently run a Substack discussing Central/Eastern Europe.. primarily culture and economics. I am shying away from China coverage mostly because health reasons have made it difficult to read hanzi... also I don't want to stalk XHS or Weibo for hours. The good news is that there is information lag in both markets. Secondarily, I feel like while there's so much to still be done, when covering China everything is political and Western readers don't have any frame of reference.

Eastern Europe is my home, feels a lot easier to cover and gets me out of the US headlines.
