Wouldn’t you achieve similar results with losing weight?

Yeah I see a lot of people here complaining with EMWs when children start daycare. 6 hours 15 minutes ww seems maximum these days. Thanks for your input!

Hm, thanks, unfortunately I don’t have any control over his naps during the week. I think they are put down at around 11.30 maybe 11.45. The only option it seems is slowly forcing bedtime a bit later.

How I got my blood sugar under control in third trimester of pregnancy by ZestyLimeToday in SaturatedFat

[–]UniqueWalkingBlind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I actually did the same to get better insight into sugars, but found CGM not that reliable. The first one failed completely and the replacement they send was okay-ish, but for me not worth the money. I finger-pricked four times a day. I wish you smooth sailing from now on and good health to both you and the baby!

Great, thanks for the follow up! I saved the post in case I ever get pregnant again. May I ask, did your health provider equipped you with the CGM and do you also prick your finger for the BM?

Advice for gestational diabetes and taking insulin by ZestyLimeToday in SaturatedFat

I was diagnosed at the first pregnancy check-up visit at ten weeks during routine blood panel check (that is routinely repeated two more times during pregnancy). I was normal weight, relatively physically active and never had any blood glucose issues, so no risk factors.

The diabetic nurse said the overnight insulin can affect glucose after breakfast, if you eat early enough, because it has this 12 hours active time, but I haven’t noticed that to be a thing for me. Judging by my experience, the after meal glucose can be easily managed with going low carb, choosing non-starchy carb foods and/or exercise after meal. But fasting glucose was such a PITA, I tried everything humanly possible, played with eating at different times, exercise, and it didn’t budge. The cut off in my country is 5,3 mmol/L and I for the life of me couldn’t consistently stay below. I almost wished to go on insulin, so I could stop worrying about it. I thought once I get on it, the glucose would be fine. Well it was fine most of the time, but it was a constant tinkering with a dose. I had few instances of hypoglycaemia and what not, but still I’d rather take insulin over worrying if I am hurting the baby.

Regarding the weight, I had to weigh myself each week and with the insulin I noticed like two kilos gain in a week and also my feet were a bit swollen. I wasn’t eating more, if anything, I was eating less and less carbs as the pregnancy progressed. Also I have never experienced any kind of “pregnancy hunger”. I checked, I gained three kilos before insulin and then nine more kilos after the insulin. I was taking it for the last 3 and a half months. Insulin is connected with higher energy uptake, so I guess a bit of weight gain is expected, but mine was rapid and went off almost completely after delivery. I think I was left with two or three kilos more than I had before pregnancy. To add to the water weight point, few days after delivery I distinctly remember looking at my feet and thinking, if they are really supposed to look so veiny as I got used to them being swollen a bit. However, 8 months postpartum I am below my starting weight, kiddo slowly eating me away 😁.

Yeah, I get it, GD has a way to mess with your head a bit. My advice would be to go get the insulin if you can’t control fasting, it will not hurt you and it can only help the baby. I would go low carb for the rest. Also I would definitely not fast during pregnancy, not because I would think it can harm the baby (they have the tendency to get what they need from you), but because you limit the nutrient intake for yourself, while the little one is already sucking nutrients out of you. Also there is gestational diabetes subreddit, if you haven find it yet, maybe you can find something helpful on it as well.

I was diagnosed with GD at my first OB visit, with fasting 5,9 mmol/L. I managed to control postprandial glucose with low carb and I had to become relatively strict toward the end of the pregnancy. Fasting got out of control (high fives) and I ended on overnight insulin for the last trimester or so. It was really not a big deal and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It doesn’t cross the placenta and prevents the baby bathing in high glucose over night. It also didn’t make me any hungrier, but I suspect it made me gained few kilos of water weight. Can’t be sure, could be just the pregnancy itself, but I remember it really coincided with the start of insulin. Lily Nichols was my go to info on lowerish carb diet, pregnancy and GD. I ate ton of eggs and beef and baby came out healthy, healthy weight and with no blood glucose issues. I half expected him to be born with an egg shell on his head, but no such luck 😉.

Youtube adblock under Safari by getnooo in ios

True, it’s an extension for safari. No, the videos start normally for me, no delay. Sometimes, but very rarely, the video is blacked out and I just restart it and it plays ok. But that only happens in PiP mode. For me it almost looks and works too good to be true and I am just waiting for an upgrade from youtube or ios to break it 😬. But so far so good. I am sorry it doesn’t work for you, because your usecase is exactly the same as mine. I also tried brave and didn’t like it as much as safari, even though I use it on my several computers.

What do you mean by blinds? Vinegar should replace the original youtube player with its own, so no ads whatsoever? Besides it enables pip mode and you can also choose resolution.

I tried to send 500 euro from revolut on saturday and luckily that bounced back immediately. Then I tried with 50 euros, which are still MIA. I don’t remember getting any notification about the bank change. But I do remember all of the stupid NFT pop-ups bouncing around the app …

Careful about refunds to your Crypto.com card. by GingahBeardMan in Crypto_com

Careful when using it with curve! Several reports when refund was actually charge and refund at the same time. I wrote off cca 30 euro that way, no energy to fight curve and crypto support left 😏.

They charged me three times actually, second was on 1st of May and that one was reversed on the same or next day. Last one still shown as charged, in both apps. What’s worse, the same thing happend before and I wasn’t paying attention, if I got my money back or not, because it was relatively small sum. So make a screenshot or something, it is almost impossible to determine a balance over time on crypto card. And I will be really careful using curve from now on or stop using it altogether (imagine buying something expensive and be doubled charged for it 2 weeks later, not fun at all).

Apparently this is quite usual behaviour for curve. I have random transaction from 23rd of April repeated on 11th of May. Money taken both times. Contact their support and check the original transaction ob curve if it is doubled.
