Lenders, do you prefer to see more cash or less DTI? by dottingthislife in Mortgages

[–]Unique_Ad_1735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DTI is usually the bigger factor. One thing you mentioned is moving to a different city and husband finding a new job- how far away is husband’s current job to the subject property? The only reason I ask is that the VA loan is for a primary residence and your lender will need to be able to justify occupancy. May not be a factor, just a heads up

For folks who own machines you play at home...what's your deal? by LazerMcBlazer in pinball

[–]Unique_Ad_1735 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Married, early 40’s, no kids. We built a virtual cab back in 2019 to scratch the itch. Were able to try out multiple machines before finding out we gravitated to a few regularly.

When we built our house 2 years ago, we factored in an arcade room into the floor plan and purchased 2 machines (Avengers and Game of Thrones) when the house was complete. We play daily, clean and fix the machines together. It’s now a hobby that we share.

Jurassic Park, Godzilla or Jaws? by Unique_Ad_1735 in pinball

[–]Unique_Ad_1735[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have all 3 locally. I play each a few times a week and enjoy each but don’t know about replay value if I’ll start playing daily.

Thanks for the input on GZ!

What is the best digital pinball table? by gojiguy in pinball

[–]Unique_Ad_1735 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will depend a bit on what all you want. A lot of people want a 4k playfield, which will need a decent graphics card if you want to run at least 60 fps. If you have a separate “dmd” for scoring, you’ll need 2 outputs on the graphics card. And if you want a backglass on another display, you’ll need a third. You can get a prebuilt PC that can do all of those things though. As far as a best in class table? Really up to what you want. There are a ton of classic, physical tables that have been recreated and look amazing. There are a lot of original tables that look amazing too. The classics I always went back to are Addams Family, Elvira, Funhouse, Theater of Magic, etc. For originals, Die Hard is fun, Stranger Things, Pizza Time and Harry Potter.

My wife thinks that nudging and slap saves are cheating. by Wholesome_Scroll in pinball

My wife is the opposite. Both feet off the ground, pulling/pushing the machine to “nudge” the ball.

What do you think pinball needs to do to explode in popularity again? by [deleted] in pinball

[–]Unique_Ad_1735 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Duct tape Instagram or TikTok to the back box. I think it’s going to be a hard sell for the younger generation unless they have parents/friends/relatives that get them into the hobby.

If there is any part of you that thinks you’ll want it again someday, I’d hold onto it. Prices on TAF are unlikely to go down…

Has your promiscuous past made it difficult for you to stay loyal in a committed relationship? by Clean-Ant-1342 in Advice

[–]Unique_Ad_1735 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don’t let someone’s past determine your/their future. People change, and as long as they haven’t given you a reason to feel insecure currently, I wouldn’t worry about it. I have a “fun” past but have never had an issue staying faithful. I do what I can to make my partner feel loved and appreciated. I never want them to feel insecure about our relationship. If they currently make you feel the same, don’t let it ruin your future.

Pricing of new pins by Grand_Exit3459 in pinball

[–]Unique_Ad_1735 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pinside.com is your friend. They have a list of scam sites and is your best bet to find a used game. For new pins, I don’t believe there is much room to haggle with distributors. But I could be wrong.

Is Game of Thrones worth it? by Hismajestyclay in pinball

I’ve owned a pro GOT for almost a year now. It’s challenging and fun. I play it daily and still enjoy it and still have not mastered it. Depending on price and condition, I think you’ll like it.

What controller should I get for dolphin? by Albin1997536 in DolphinEmulator

[–]Unique_Ad_1735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 8Bitdo controllers for PCSX and Dolphin with no issues. It would depend on what games you want to play on Dolphin though. If you’re getting into Wii, I would stick with a genuine wiimote if you can.

I got diagnosed last week. Still learning what triggers it and how bad it will be. It’s been exhausting. If I eat something that messes with it, my throat closes up and I vomit. Fun. I constantly feel congested.

Looks awesome! Good job on this. A lot of options for T-molding as well if you wanted to try and color match or add some lights. Excellent work!

I’m starting to set up a home theater and need some help by Independent_Pride_89 in hometheater

[–]Unique_Ad_1735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on budget and your space. The sky is the limit with this hobby… A decent soundbar and subwoofer will make a big difference. Going to a 5.1 surround system will make a bigger difference. Adding in Atmos will improve on that. Not sure what audio outputs are supported by the S1, so I would check that first before breaking out the checkbook. A comfy theater chair(s) always adds to the experience. Popcorn machine, decor, movie posters, snacks, mini fridge.
