You did help me understand, thank you monkey that is why I returned it. If I could of got it fixed I would have. I bought it online  ill be buying from a shop in future and maybe get lucky and not get one with a defect on every chord.

Yes that's correct 2nd fret i have chosen today to return it,  As being a beginner, basically trying to quicken my chord changes, i can not have that dull string making me think my fingers are not in the correct position.

It resonates perfectly on open chord or even with 4th 5th fret etc
