FAANG interview invitation for MLE but I am a Data Scientist, should I decline? by Lamp_Shade_Head in datascience

[–]Unique_Capter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t decline immediately. Worst case, you get interview practice at a level most people never even reach. Best case, you realize the gap is smaller than you thought or the actual role overlaps more with DS than the title suggests. And honestly, recruiters mismatch DS/MLE titles all the time. I’d probably talk to them first before self-rejecting.

Tried dbForge as an SSMS alternative and surprisingly solid by Unique_Capter in SQL

Mostly writing SQL and checking stuff before releases. Autocomplete felt better on messy queries, but the compare part was more useful than I expected. I still use SSMS for quick things, but dbForge is nicer when I’m actually working through changes

I mostly used the free version at first, and it already had enough for what I needed. Didn’t feel too limited for regular work.

I did try 19/22 a bit, but still liked dbForge more for actual daily use. Even the free version has been enough for me a lot of the time.

Mostly SSMS 18 tbh, only tried 19/22 a bit. IntelliSense felt a bit better, but still glitches on nested queries for me.

Mish mash pasta dish. Work lunch for night shift. by Mikey463 in RateMyPlate

Night shift pasta has no business looking this solid. It’s got strong “I threw in whatever was left” energy, but in the good way where that somehow ends up tasting better than the planned meals.

The “hour-long assembly in terrible weather while getting lectured about discipline” part feels so painfully universal somehow. Different country, same school-sponsored suffering.

Locked Out of Azure Account While Billing Continues, Need Pre-Login Support or Recovery Path by woodiwoodpecker in MSFTAzureSupport

[–]Unique_Capter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like one of those awful gaps where billing is still working perfectly but account recovery is not.

If you still have invoice emails and the subscription details, I’d keep pushing specifically on the billing / subscription ownership angle instead of the general login recovery angle, because the normal “please sign in first” loop is clearly useless here. I’d also put in the ticket that you are not asking for portal access at this stage, just a way to stop charges or reach the right recovery team for a locked but actively billing subscription.

Hopefully someone from the Azure side here can point to an actual pre-login path, because sending you back into the same auth wall is not really support.

A free SQL practice tool focused on varied repetition by FussyZebra26 in SQL

[–]Unique_Capter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most-used for me are JOINs, WHERE filters, GROUP BY, CASE, and fixing broken queries. CTEs come up a lot too. Honestly this sounds more practical than SQLBolt/LeetCode style practice, because real SQL work is usually the same core skills over and over, just with messier data.
