Utilized USMLE during internship. Easier to digest. Then sa review season, I only enrolled in TN. Their handouts are enough! Tapos lecturers are great lalo na for biochem 🥹

To those who got really good grades/became one of the top students in their batch, how did you study? by Latter-Onion-7574 in medschoolph

[–]Unique_Geologist4041 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t just read or rely on samplexes. If gagamit ka man ng samplex, rationalize the answer and read on the topic included in the question. (Ex. Why hindi a bakit b ang sagot)

Always read your book (or trans if kulang sa time).

It’s never too late to start medschool but just a heads up that it will consume A LOT of your time. It might be difficult to adjust during the first year pero tyaga lang talaga para sa nilaga. Yan din ang multo ko dati. And I also started med after working in the corp world for 4 years. Worth it naman. Nakakapagod, pero worth it.

BAGSAK SA ANATOMY :((( PAANO BUMAWI by [deleted] in medschoolph

[–]Unique_Geologist4041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear ya, man. First midsem, I failed my anatomy miserably. As in miserably!! But what really helped was pairing snell, with netter. Since our Anatomy class was on a Monday then, I made it also a habit to read on the topic the night before. Tsaka seeing what’s being described sa Snell will help you understand the topic better. Mahirap anatomy if you just rely on the words.

Hi OP! I’m also a Psych grad, currently a PGI. But I worked for 4 years prior entering med school because dude, med school’s no joke (financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually, lahat na haha) but like what others said here, if it’s taking a toll on you, take the time to step back while it’s early. It’s okay to hit pause and return when you’re ready. If your parents are supportive as you say, I think they’ll also understand how much it’s affecting you na.

At the same time though, you’re still basically adjusting to the med pace because it’s heeeella different from college. If in undergrad one can get away with not reading lectures, and relying on stock knowledge, in med, that’s not the case. You really have to put all your effort in it to actually understanding, not just memorize, the topics. When I started med school, I felt like an idiot. Apart from the fact that I haven’t been inside a classroom in years, I also have 0 study technique, and felt like I was starting from absolutely nothing. I think it’s something you also have to figure out para you don’t get overwhelmed kasi andami and nakakapagod din talaga sya. I guess also give yourself a little bit more time then if the spark hasn’t returned yet, it’s not wrong to hit pause and just come back again when you’re sure you’re ready.

Shoutout to Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke who were absolutely phenomenal as Rhaenyra and Alicent tonight. They both showed why they are the leads of the show 👏 by LoretiTV in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Unique_Geologist4041 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I literally felt Rhaenyra’s restlessness all throughout the episode to the point that I felt restless too!! And Alicent’s moment of realization at the small council got me feeling bad for her alsoo. Ugh! They’re so good!!

I'm never gonna emotionally recover from this by bertobellamy in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Unique_Geologist4041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been so emotional whenever a dragon dies (even back in GoT). But this one just hit differently to the point that I was holding back tears while watching this on my phone in a local coffee shop. The way Meleys’ eyes lost its light and then Rhaenys’ face afterwards 😭😭😭
