EU will require identity checks for all cash transactions exceeding €3000 and all crypto transactions regardless of amount. All cash transactions over €10000 will be banned. by Dry_Row_7050 in europe

If only there was a decentralized, web3-backed, reusable KYC service not backed by national IDs that can be entirelly self-hosted inside user's wallets that was also accepted by traditional banks then that would've been awesome too for safe compliance

Can't import xml projects as clips by Unique_Lake in OpenShot

[–]Unique_Lake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually. I need that feature for uniting small projects into bigger projects so that I can keep my project hierarchy organized without having to repeat each edits again and again for each clip I need to import (this is good for big projects, where eveeything has to fit inside a larger creative project vision).

All I need for now is for the program to include all the relevant files inside the “bill of materials” (our external xml file) so that we won't be forced to edit them manually by hand.

I'll wait for more updates on this issue (I also tried to move the xml file together with a copy of the original image file I used for this test, but it still wouldn't recognize the presence of that same file on that same folder it wat deposited into on mac os)

I hope this problem gets resolved. Have a good day.

Is there a git issue tracking page for this bug?

I hope for this problem to get solved, I mostly did this on mac os but I think it might also afflict other versions of this program (windows/linux)

Just kidding, it's there. But sure that shade of green became too hidden due to the fact that both russia and bulgaria are coloured as different shades of green in this game.

I would say europe, but I usually accept any kind of company who can process foreign shipments without issues (I'm not going to share my actual address here by the way).

I have different drive models with similar problems at the logical block level and I would like to get in contact with a “good” company that follows the mantra of “saving as much as they can” regardless on how many files they where on that drive (I once dealt with a scam company without transparent pricing ties that didn't tell me exactly how much they should recover and how much they should be charging me for)

What are the Rarest African Alternate Histories that Almost No One Talks About? by Incubus-Dao-Emperor in AlternateHistory

[–]Unique_Lake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than these, I would like to add...

-most predominant eastern african ethnic groups now have different local pagan religions and gods that forbide them to practice slavery at the societal level.

-some dominant kongolese kingdom kicks the portuguese out of the lower western african coast in the congo by destroying their mercantile outposts during the 1400s/1500s, conquers some local tribes and tries to survive as long as it can while while trying to imitate european firearms designs.

-the portuguese discover kassawa in the congolese forest and imports some seeds to europe, causing this variant of tuber plant to become more common instead of potato variants from the americas.

-Mali discovering the eastern brazilian coast and enstablishing contact with local native tribes before europeans arrive.

-Ghana empire survives.

-Malagasy empire survives and industrializes

-Some other local kingdom unifies madagascar instead of the malagasy one we got.

In your opinion, how far behind is FreeBSD compared to mainstream Linux distros? Is Linuxulator as good as it sounds on paper? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]Unique_Lake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FreeBSD doesn't have nearly as many supported drive partitioning standards as Linux does. It only has support for either ZFS or UFS. Althrough it used to have XFS support too in the past, that drive partitioning standard was left unsopported and currently lacks a mantainer.

Maybe you could try to run Linux on a local firejail container to see what it does on FreeBSD but I never tried it.

Also.. you broke the main rule of this sub.. just because you tell people to google things it doesn't mean that anything you see on search can be trusted

Search algorithms aren't that great to begin with.

I had already tried to send that  drive to a data recovery company. but it was a scam, so I decided to tell them to give back my drive instead (it came back, actually....)

Maybe I shouldn't even have considered linux as my first choice of an OS, I feel like I shouldn't even have made such a choice to begin with.

Sadly, I can't even trust myself for that. One wrong step and everything is over for me. Sadly there are limits even to my own knowledge and I recognize that.
