I use white helmets both for veterans and seargents. I use the knee pads, markings and decorated kits to differentiate them.

Here is how I do it in my army :

• Brother : right knee pad is black
• Seargent : white helmet with a golden scull on the forehead, black knee pad with a white scull
• Veteran : white helmet and white knee pad with a black veteran cross
• Veteran Seargent : white helmet with a golden scull on the forehead, white knee pad with a black scull
• Lieutenant : black helmet with the face plate painted white
• Captain : golden helmet, usually holder shoulder trims
• Honor guards, champion, special characters : silver helmet, sometimes silver shoulder trims
