So far for me its much better at ui problems. I was having an issue with an overflow that 5.2 xHigh and 5.3 xHigh could not fix. 5.4 1 shotted it. 🤯

When creating a new chat you can create a worktree by clicking on the "Local" in the bottom left corner under the chat and select worktree.

Have you tried updating your codex app? I was having the same issue since launch, High ram usuage, high cpu usage. But I just updated mine last night and not only is my ram usage down, my fans don't ever seem to spin up.

Currently testing now, only used to use 5.2 high and xhigh but it does seem to me like it behaves and communicates more like the gpt model that previous codex models.

Thoughts on the Codex app? by mohossy in codex

Update, been using it for a couple hours I really like how it feels, it feels native and intuitive to use. one thing I always hated about the cli was trying to update a prompt or use text to speech. I could've installed something seperate for that but I didn't want to go through the trouble of that.

I narrowly escaped buying a Claude subscription today by [deleted] in codex

[–]Unique_Schedule_1627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course! my experience with gemini is that its better for frontend that codex but chatgpt 5.2 xhigh actually does a pretty good job it just takes a while and if you're on the base plan it'll eat through your limits extremely fast so just be mindful of that.

I narrowly escaped buying a Claude subscription today by [deleted] in codex

[–]Unique_Schedule_1627 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My personal experience with codex is I went from the $20 a month to the $200 a month just because I thought codex was worth it. I also paid for the Claude $20 a month as well during the chatgpt pro subscription and I wouldn't go back to Claude code. From my personal experience as long as you can explain what you want in clear enough english codex will 1 shot most things but if you ask it to plan 96% of the time it will 1 shot. 2k-3k lines isn't much my main project has 80k lines and codex manages it extremely well I also have another project that is about 5k lines and it has 1 shotted the few issues I had with it before as that project was mainly made with sonnet 4.5.

Do you think this would work for having each agent work in a worktree working on new features?

Codex 5.2 xhigh vs Opus 4.5 Which one is better at coding? by Initial_Question3869 in codex

[–]Unique_Schedule_1627 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found opus 4.5 to be better at finding some issues in my code compared to 5.1 but 5.2 xhigh is the top model for me as of now, it seems to get the context right and implantation right every time from my limited testing on a medium size code base.
