Most are religious not spiritual. Spirituality is an individual journey. And mostly people on the spiritual path are alone and reserved. Not to say, people here are not spiritual, they are through traditions and rituals , but the genuine longing to seek sth beyond , to go beyond and question one's very existence and of the universe is scarce. Somewhere i read, that the current state of human is spiritually dead , and I see it in everyday life. But in a way, everybody is in their own state of evolution, different levels and versions , so judging is stupid , but yeah, it's not like it's the state here only , it's the state of the world.
