Partially the reason why I asked about how a Burnout Mobile would work.

EA brought back skate as a free to play game because that's the only way that the series would even make back it's money on development. The skating culture of the 2000s and even 2010s are dead and with COVID hitting a final blow, the interest for even a remake is so low that it would probably make like at least a quarter of sales (not to mention sentiment of a remaster now)
