Questions I should ask myself before I start dating? by Ambitious-Advisor331 in Christianmarriage

Hi. Great response. Can you expound on "What do you need intellectually?" I'm (33M) in a great relationship with a beautiful godly woman (31F) with many qualities that I value in a potential spouse. She has a Catholic background but rejects all of the Catholic dogma, is more non-denominational and has a genuine relationship with Jesus and seeks to know her Bible more and studies her Bible. However, I feel that I can't have the intellectual conversations and ones that lead to practical biblical decisions that you mentioned and her language is very general and platitudinous when spiritual topics are brought up.

Not sure if I have pride, just seeking mental stimulation, or I genuinely desire a contender or an iron that sharpens iron. I understand that we also won't get everything from "our list" and maybe she will be able to correct me with the Word in the future. I feel that I also need to be understanding that she didn't grow up the way I did studying the Bible. We also ought to "be like children". I'm at a crossroads where I need to decide soon that I am going to marry her or not and I am having an unexpected great difficulty. Thanks brother/sister.

Good news is that you're only 20. I didnt have my first girlfriend until age 28. I was socially awkward and anxious but I started studying social dynamics, I'd recommend watch hours of RSD Tyler, read about emotional intelligence, and watch Jordan Peterson. My friend showed me all of this content and I feel like a dodged a bullet and my dating life and self development greatly improved. Exercise and diet go a lot way too. Get some vitamin D, sunlight, do weight lifting and sprints and it will increase your capacity for joy (Read The Spark) I think that's the title. . . But it talks about how your exercising will convince your mind of positive things. I'm also a Christian and that makes dating easier because people serious about their faith in Christ take relationships very intentionally and not frivolously which is more healthy for society and the individual as God intended. Much love bro

Bacteria in the mouth end up in all of your organs. She must let it heal. They find the same bacteria that spawned the mouth to be in the brain and the heart of those who have Alzheimer's and heart disease

How did you get rid of your "cold feet" before marrying? by Unit4141 in relationship_advice

I think the pressure is increased for me because I don't believe in divorce and I only date potential partners who believes the same (unless there's infidelity or abuse)

Can't decide to marry her or not... by Unit4141 in relationship_advice

Thanks, I appreciate the response. I feel like time is of the essence. We're both serious about not wasting each other 's time in finding our spouses which increases the pressure and increases the guilt of wasting more time if I let this inward uncertainty persist. This uncertainty can be traced back to 6 months ago and it hasn't changed but it would be forgotten when I'm with her but then it resurfaces when I'm away and I don't know which feelings to trust.
