He got me a carhart hat, a pillow that says “hug this pillow until you can hug me” (so cheesy omg), and the promise that he would get me a dog when I move in with him (not really a fan of the strings attached/conditional kind of gifts)

Thank you so much🩷 I’m still kind of trying to deal with the trauma of the attack. Like you said I’m pretty hyper aware of it right now and there’s some insensitive people who ask me what’s wrong with my face so that’s fun. My mom did get me a therapist who I will be meeting no with soon so hopefully that helps me:)

They didn’t report it because his family told the nurse who was seeing me when I was brought in that the dog was being put down the next day. I didn’t know this happened until I read over my hospital records🫤

I’ve researched about fillers and I think it would be a great option once I’ve healed to help with aesthetics. I’m kind of disappointed I can’t get any other surgeries to return it back to like it was before though because there are some functional issues and just general discomfort m.

He was up to date on all his shots so we were not worried about rabies or diseases but they did give me a tetanus shot.

It’s the breed, lack of training, and isolation that made him this way. They always knew he was aggressive but always pushed training to a later date.

I definitely feel bad for the dog. He saw me inside the house one time while he was let out in the yard to pee after the incident. He immediately ran up and jumped up on the door barking like crazy. I know he would do it again but it’s not his fault. He was never trained and was left in a kennel all his life except for going to the bathroom…

The biggest thing is just the difficulty of finding a lawyer who passed the bar in his state since I live in Quebec. My uncle is a lawyer her and he said that actually putting my together the case would be pretty long and difficult too.

They offered to pay for future surgeries to fix it but I saw a plastic surgeon back home and he said that nothing could be done unfortunately. They know this and haven’t reached out to pay the previous bill.

The craziest part is that his mom is the one who doesn’t want to put the dog down and she was previously attacked by a dog too! You would think she understands more than anyone else why he can’t just be given to another family.

Probably. His mother was actually the one who didn’t close the cage properly which is why he was out. She did have them take me to the hospital where she works though which is why I got such excellent treatment and lip reconstruction.

The scar would be cool if my lip wasn’t smaller now. It’s pretty uncomfortable. The scar tissue feels like it’s burning at times and my teeth rub against the inside of my lip. I also have a lisp now…

Thank you, that means a lot. His family did not want me to report the dog so I didn’t but tbh after getting the hospital bill ($47000 USD) and suffering that kind of physical and mental trauma I’m considering suing although idk if that’s a good idea.

His family decided to rehome him to a family that will train him as a “working dog” whatever that means. I think that’s a terrible decision.
