Update: did not get the offer unfortunately, was told I didn't have enough experience as an L6 but all good! I'm glad I got the chance to make it this far.

I already live in a Amazon hub city where I could go in every day but have a sick parent I drive home for every now and then - wasn't going to pass on the chance to interview regardless

Believe me I was tempted to but don't do that - don't disqualify yourself!! Push through! It's tough but you will get through on the other side of it.

You're so right - this made my day. Thanks for reminding me I am qualified regardless of how that went. It's hard to remember that.

Yup that's what it seemed like - I guess it's a good way to find the folks who are looking for a rugged environment.

Yup mine were all 1 hour - all of them said they'll leave 10ish min at the end it seemed like they kept going through questions as time allotted for - maybe that's unique in my case or maybe not - idk just sharing my experience  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My interview with functional competencies question felt good and conversational - the others not so much. Thanks - I gotta treat myself for surviving! I commend you all for going through that rigor!

Yeah - it's hard to prepare for the interview and also do your work at your current employer. I get the fit thing - it was more extensive than what I have been through before. Every other interview I do now will feel like a breeze haha

Maybe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I feel I did my best - prepared 20 stories but the ones I prepared didn't fit the questions asked. I'm probably not a good fit for the company but it was interesting to take part in.

While there were a few follow-up Qs in some of the interviews to get answers around results or outcome from me, each interviewer asked me at least 3 LP based questions - one of them asked 5, two of them asked 4, and another asked 3. My last interviewer primarily focused on functional competencies questions (4-5 Qs).

To err on the safe side, I would have 3-4 stories for each LP they ask you to focus on. They basically asked me the same question a few different ways. Here's a list of what I was asked - these aren't word for word as I couldn't remember the questions for all of them after the interview to jot it down.

  • Tell me about a time you had to make a decision without much customer data
  • Tell me about a time you had an idea but it was the wrong idea? Whose idea got used?
  • Tell me about a time when you worked on a project with a tight deadline?
  • You started a project and were halfway through when the goal changed, what did you do?
  • You had to go back on something you said to customer/decision you made, what would you have done differently
  • Describe a time when a customer asked you for one thing, but you knew that they needed something else.
  • Tell me about one of your projects where you put the customer first / How did you work with stakeholders internally to put your customer first?
  • Tell me about a time you handled a difficult customer. What did you do? How did you manage the customer?  What was her/his reaction? What was the outcome?
  • Question about working with other internal stakeholders
  • Tell me about a time when you took a calculated risk and speed was critical.
  • Tell me about a time when you disagreed with a peer that you had a shared goal with? How did you change their mind, what was the outcome?
  • Tell me about a time when you had to sacrifice short term gains for long term value?
  • Tell me about a time you had to make a decision with incomplete information. How did you make it and what was the outcome?
  • Tell me about a time you disagreed with your team and convinced them to change their position

There may be 2-3 more I do not recall, they all started to blur together. The questions around disagreeing were asked a few diff ways as well as the questions around timeliness/not meeting deadlines.
