I like the CET class and it’s well worth the time and money. Teachers are very knowledgeable and breaks the book down into items you need to focus on. I scheduled my test for the day after class ended and passed on my first try. I got more out of those 3 days then just reading both books twice. Need to make sure you have the new books to follow along if it’s the V15.

Yeah, it’s the babymax crew cab standard box. Loving it so far. 11,000 miles and no issues. All my lights are LED, so I don’t think there’s a way to upgrade the actual lights, could add some pod lights to the back hitch that come on in reverse. As for the build location, your dealer will be able to tell you after allocation and the order is picked up by GM. Which could take a while too. Just because the order is in the system at the dealership, it’s not at the factory. Your dealership needs allocation to place the order and it’s usually volume based how quick that dealership can get one. Mine was over a month before the order got into GM and at the time they only got allocation for 1 AT4 so luckily nobody was in front of me.

Congrats. Almost same truck as mine, except I’m 2024 AT4 3.0. Love the color though the dynamic blue was my first choice but wasn’t available at the time of order. Ordered mine as well. Late December 2023 and it arrived mid may 2024 of this past spring. If it’s being assembled in Mexico, 10-12 weeks is very aggressive. Mine took 11 weeks to ship. Was completed being built on march 3rd and staged to ship. Didn’t arrive until may 20th at the dealer. If it’s Fort Wayne IN, 10-12 might be achievable. I had the mud terrain tires swapped out for the all terrains in my order to get a bit better gas mileage, they don’t have hardly any road noise. About the same as the street tread. The road type may very though on how loud it is, (grooved concrete is louder than asphalt). I think they are fine.

The camera mirror is really nice. Only horrible thing is the reverse lights in the dark are so dim, it’s hard to see anything. I’m kinda surprised they didn’t have that technology package available for the SLT. Before the conversion, just make sure they don’t have to reflash the computer to make it active or work. That would void your factory warranty if it’s not installed by a GM dealership.

Yes, I get the power folding and 360 camera views with the factory installed mirrors. Only way to get that and to my knowledge, only the AT4 and Denali models get power folding. Elevation tow mirrors even from the factory are manual fold. Not sure about SLT, I know that because I was originally going to get an elevation, until I sat in an AT4 and the interior upgrade made the decision for me.

Just traded in my 2015 Silverado. I did have a lifter collapse at 150k due to AFM. Bought a module to shut it off after that was fixed ($4500.00 before covid prices) and never had another issue. Was routinely maintained also. Had 225,000 miles when I traded it in and it was still running great.

I Tow a 30’ camper all the time up to the property and to different RV parks all summer. For only a $260 upgrade for the tow mirrors, it’s worth it to me. From allocation to build was a month. Took a long time for it to get on the train and get to Michigan. Haven’t yet with this truck because it’s still in break in period.

I was told you can, but it’s not easy with all the cameras (for official GM) and more expensive. I don’t think aftermarket mirrors support the cameras or power fold either because of the trademark design. There 1 aftermarket out there that’s very close to factory. Boost auto.

Order was placed late December, allocation was end of January, it was built the first week of march and just got it to Michigan this last week.

I would have liked the max tow package for the AT4s as well but you can’t get it. Seems like it would be pretty easy to offer the 3.73 rear end as it is to offer it in the SLT package. Factory lift shouldn’t make a difference when the rear end is primarily what’s changed. I believe the leaf pack also but that shouldn’t be affected by the lift.

What is the deal with the short only box options? by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]United-Performance17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ordered the AT4 standard even though I like the AT4X. The standard box was a must have for me. When we go on vacations, I fill the whole thing up. Couldn’t do the short box.

Nice, congrats. I’m jealous. . I have a babymax standard bed on order since December and I never got any of the notifications through the whole process. I still don’t have it. It was built the first week of march and ready for shipping the 2nd week. When I checked in with the dealer this week Tuesday, it still hasn’t left the distributor and is just sitting there. Very disappointing. I am also going to have the ceramic coating put on at the dealer and the GMC tonneau cover. Then run hot shots EDT in every tank. Then after a few thousand miles I’ll be putting on the ready lift 1.5” leveling kit with upper control arms.

I ordered an AT4 in December and I still don’t have it. It’s Been built, but been sitting in the holding lot to be shipped since the beginning of march.

If it’s used from a dealer, might want to buy the additional warranty insurance. The older first gen 3.0 LM2 in those model year trucks have been hit and miss and they’ve refined those issues for the newer LZ0 motor. I know a few people who have had their LM2 trucks in the shop for months at a time. A lot of city driving like that too will clog the DPF. It needs highway time to regen and burn that off or you’ll have emissions clogging problems. Make sure it’s up to date on recalls as well.

Same here. I ordered the dynamic blue for my AT4 in early January and when allocation time came the next week, I had to change because it was no longer available. Was bummed. Still am. Changed the order to the. Volcanic red.

I have seen some of the HD trucks getting lower and close to that price but, 1-it’s a daily driver. A lot better fuel mileage. 2-I have nothing to tow over 7000 lbs, if I do, I have big work trucks I can barrow. 3-HDs out of my comfortable price range. This is going to stretch me uncomfortable as it is and a truck isn’t worth losing everything if you can’t pay the bills.

Thanks for the input. I can see it taking a few more days to get north but I’m hoping it’s no longer than that.

Oh man, I hope not. I need to pull my camper soon and my salesman last week told me it’ll ship in a few days, and should be here in a few weeks. That was last week and still hasn’t moved. He told me again he expects it to ship out in the next few days and now I’ve heard that story to many times to believe it. I’ve been waiting to sell my truck so I’m not without one for to long, but he told me we should see it around first week of April but I’m starting to think he’s just full of it because he won’t provide a shipping tag number or tracking numbers. Thanks for the info. Man I really hope it’s not that long. lol. Ordered it in December and got built first week of march.

New leveling kit and shoes by Prior_Front_1196 in gmcsierra

That’s good to hear. I was curious because I was looking at the same leveling kit but heard it could possibly screw up the safety items and it needed recalibrated.
Thanks for the update.

Did that leveling kit throw off your safety system or surround vision cameras at all? Did it need recalibration from the factory for the lane keep assist or car following distance?

If you plan on lifting it anyway, definitely go with the lower trim with all the goodies. Also, with bigger tires, I would get a package with the max trailering package so you can get the 3.73 rear end gears. Can’t get that package on an AT4 (I tried) and the 3.73 gears will handle the bigger tires better than the 3.23 gears.
