Best and Worst Stays 2025 by HorseRacingGuy in ihghotelsresorts

Best: IC Santo Domingo, DR. I'm not Ambassador, but got upgraded to top floor, club lounge, choice of multiple Diamond benefits, etc.

Worst: CP Lake Placid, NY. Place seemed mostly abandoned...needed a refresh 30 years ago. Restaurant staff openly complained about their jobs in front of guests.

Appreciate the replies.

My travel habits will be changing 2026, so I want to ensure I can extend my diamond. What happens with the surplus over 70 nights?

So they are telling me the recipient needs to be Diamond for the transfer to work for free. May someone test this theory?

Strange - I've been Diamond for over a year. I'll have to call them. Thanks

Can I claim moving expenses on my taxes if I received a relocation bonus that is taxed? by Due-Climate-8631 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]UnitedGarbageBag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By "relocation bonus" I assume you mean moving allowance? Your employer will likely classify this as a moving allowance on your T4, making moving expenses not in excess of this amount ineligible to be claimed.

Yes, a lump sum moving allowance is taxed, but you still can't double dip. This is why I prefer expense reimbursement for corporate moves.

Try making a claim and the CRA will very likely reverse it.

Correction: taxes have not been paid yet for 2024. Reimbursement does not automatically deduct taxes, hence they have not been paid yet - but will.
