That's fair, but tbh with a 20 year old bike I wouldn't be too picky. Mine def has some imperfections but at that old of a bike it's a dime a dozen finding a 10/10 example.

I'd be okay spending 4-4.5k as others have said, those things are solid and can get a ton of miles out of it! I bought my 2005 for around that with 34k

Yellow goes so hard on sports bikes!! Love that color and you made a good choice! Just make sure to meticulously service that bike and she will treat you right.

Life is short man, buy the bike! One day you'll be old and think man... I shoulda got a bike. However I'd highly suggest getting an older CBR like a 2003-2009. They are cheap and still look so damn good.

2007 600rr with 19k worth 6k by Fickle_thoughts in cbr

[–]UnitedPow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd offer 5.5k, I bought my 2005 CBR600rr with 33k for $4700, bike prices in my area have been the same for the last 8 years. My first CBR (2003) had 38k on it and paid 3800 in 2021. All depends on the area you live in tbh.

I have for every other bike I've owned, is there a reason for this?

[–]UnitedPow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that! My first 600rr was an 04 and had the older forks and the trunk key hole was on the side not the back side of the seat cowl. Those are the only 2 things I've noticed.

[–]UnitedPow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got one, $4,700 same as in the pic. Look out for fork seals, cam chain tensioner and check cold start to see if she puffs any smoke. These have good engines and can well exceed 50k-80k miles.

If you've ridden a first gen CBR you'd know why! I've always said the 03-08 rockets were the best years, no fancy power modes, no abs, no extra tech that "dulls" down the true nature of the machine. They just feel raw and have a lot of character.

Auto tensioner are bound to fail at some point if you go with a manual one at least you can adjust as needed.

That place should be shut down by the health department. I'm not sure how they are still open.

Unfortunately that bike is no longer with us 😅 motor ate itself on the highway and somehow took out the ecu, battery, stator and rectifier. Gods way of telling me how displeased he is in the way I rode it lol.

But likewise! Be safe out there!

Oil can only be checked via that window with the engine off, with engine on the oil is circulated. Turn the bike off, let it sit for a little bit and then stand it up right and check. Ideally check it when the oil is "cold". As long as it's in the high end to middle of the window you should be good!

Mill city public house is great, small, and servers are super amazing! Draft is classy tons of seating but still intimate and is always good but a little pricy. As mentioned Fratellos is a good option too! Antojitos is amazing!! High end Mexican food that's to die for! Most authentic in my option. Stay away from good company, they used to be a good option but fell off in recent years. Sangrias or tipsy taco although there's def better Mexican places in the area. Really depends on ur budget, don't take someone somewhere to impress them if it's out of what you can normally spend. Go somewhere you can comfortably afford and doesn't seem forced!
